This might be the worst interview I've ever seen. These questions could have been asked of literally any band... or any creative endeavor for that matter.

It's a red carpet interview. What do you expect? lol

Fair enough. I guess I never watch those.

I mean it's more just like those two interviewers probably did not have a clue who they were speaking with, nor did they care. lol and Chino responded accordingly, while also remaining courteous.

honestly kinda fucked up that they didn’t agree to Sergio being a full time band member. his contributions, especially with the 6 string bass, are essential to the last few records. kinda sours me on the other guys in general.

Yeah, unfortunately I think we may only ever get one side on this. I can see a situation where there was some misunderstanding and they really weren't looking to replace Chi in a sense, but after 10+ years it's pretty suspect. I don't know. I've met them all and they all strike me as generally nice guys but who knows.

Chi passed away nine years ago today. Feels insane it's been that long already.

Got a last minute ticket to the Portland show tonight. I’m still bummed about the Sergio situation, but I know we’re never going to hear the band’s side of the story, and after the death of Taylor Hawkins, I’m not going to take an artist touring for granted ever again. If I want to see an artist, I have to go (at least) once.

it’s also their first show since 2019, so this will be interesting.

Wow. We got one hell of a set! Surprisingly, we only got two Ohms songs: Genesis and Ohms. The first one started off odd because it was the first song. The latter was really great.

Next surprise was Prayers/Triangles for the first time since 2017.

The biggest surprise of the night was them playing Lovers live for the first time ever. One of their best, and it's a song not many know about. What a treat.

Overall, they sounded amazing. Sound was a bit weird in up in the 300 section for some songs, but that was the venue, not the band. They messed up during the first chorus on Rocket Skates, and there were some occasional hiccups, but the band was locked in and prepped. Hearing Chino's scream live for the first time was such a moment for me. He did an excellent job, as did the rest of the band. They played at least one song from each album, with Diamond Eyes, Koi no Yokan, and White Pony getting the most attention. You could tell they were so excited to be back on stage again after three years, and Chino's performance looked cathartic for him.

Minor annoyances: I left my bottled water thinking it would be fine. Wrong. Someone had the nerve to steal my water (that I'd already opened and drank from... ewww) when I went to the bathroom and I looked them in the eye and we both knew. Just speechless. Other issue was this woman next to me that was there with her husband and daughter. You could tell this was a dad/daughter experience, and mom recorded the hits from White Pony cause that's all she knew. The rest of the show she was on her phone. That's totally fine. It's not a movie theater. But this woman had the audacity to play TikTok vids at a noticeable level when they started playing "Sextape", which is a mostly quiet song. It wasn't an issue for the rest of the setlist, but I was just shocked by the behavior.

Had a great time overall, and really hope more Ohms songs make it in the setlist on future tours.

Surprised they're playing so little of the new stuff, but I guess they have such a huge catalogue at this point it's to be expected. Still, would love if they'd swap out some of the KNY/DE stuff for like Error or Ceremony.

  19. I'm seeing a second live guitarist, that isn't Chino, in that video. Is that new for them?

Holy shit what a setlist. A little bummed that they aren’t playing more new songs, but they are playing some deep cuts that are among my favorite songs. I dig it

would kill to see Lovers live damn, hope they keep it in the set. might by some last minute tickets to the Atlanta show or something if they do. def wish there was more Ohms representation (and maybe less DE, tbh) but overall that’s a really good set, good mix of the hits and deep cuts.

Second guitarist wasn't up there for the entire set, but yeah that was odd to see.

probably just one of the guitar techs or something playing some parts so Chino is free to roam and focus on singing
