  1. Do you prefer poppy Coheed or shredding Coheed?

Poppy Coheed for me, all day every day.

poppy by a distance. shreddy music is not really my thing but there are other bands that are more technically proficient that fill that space better anyways. it's the groove and Claudio's elite melody writing that's the real draw

Poppy, proggy, shredding... all can coexist in one song, and often did in the good ol days

What matters is having interesting nuances and layers imo. That's why "poppy" Three Evils is possibly my favorite song of theirs ever, while also "poppy" BRS or The Pavillion are skips.

It's a good point. I do think they used to be much better at weaving the two together, instead of, here's the poppy song, and here's the dark, "shred" song (looking at you, The Audience).

Island is the standout on TCBTS for sure, its all downhill from there

Here We Are Juggernaut even with the muddy production still should've been a monster single for Coheed. But as good as songs like Far really are, you can't help but think, this is Coheed with the drummer from Dillinger?

terrible news about Taylor Hawkins, being the massive coheed fan I am and NWFT being my favorite album by them (some days) I’ve always been so fascinated by the lore surrounding the recording (which I vaguely remember following at the time) and always found it so cool he recorded the drums because Chris pennie was still under contract with Dillinger and all that. His contributions to that album are apparent, it fucking shreds in all the right ways and I’ll always appreciate him for contributing to an album I consider to be special.

he’s an incredible drummer and, as far as session musicians go, really feels like he left his mark on that album. absolutely gutted

He was fantastic on NWFT. Dude just brought so much energy into anything he played on. Terrible loss

Yeah my mind went to NWFT as well. I love Josh, but he just hasn’t quite ever nailed the title track live the way Taylor did on record. Incredible player that will be truly missed. RIP.

    Sith Lord.

I finally got the Jessie's Girl 2 vinyl that I forgot I ordered like a year ago. I kept wondering what the Bside would be for just that one song, and it was the same song but (Directors Cut) and it has Claudio singing Springfields part and there might be some mixing differences but it sounded pretty much identical but without Rick.

    EDIT: Oh its.. this haha

Niceeeeeee. Going to be awesome to get so many short Coheed songs, then end with the epics. Really hoping for the best here
