Did an Irish double-feature on Shudder last night, Caveat and Stitches. Caveat was awesome, just really effective and creepy and well-paced for a somewhat slow-burn. Really recommend that one.

Stitches was okay. Really great practical effects, but the fat jokes were SO hacky. I don't think I'm being overly sensitive or anything, it was just that thing where that was a character's defining trait and the constant jokes were bad and distracting.

 

Since the Runaways in 2010

 

I feel like Caveat was slept on a little bit but yeah, I also really enjoyed it.

 

The poster for Caveat put me off. I watched it after seeing how well it reviewed

 

New cromenberg is absolutely nuts can't believe it's happening

 

He watched his son make Possessor, saw Titane pay homage to Crash and knew it was time to come back

 

Would love for the Cronenbergs to try and one-up each other hah

Always forget that Children of the Corn is kind of a snooze. Probably my least favorite of the Spring King Fling so far.

 

I already know the Mist is going to be my least favorite of the Spring King Fling but that's because it's like a bottom five movie for me lol

 

Found the outlander among us

 

If anyone reads horror, I HIGHLY recommend The Final Girl Support Group. There’s enough slasher references to warrant the title without shoehorning in tropes. It’s a really fun read.

 

Meander was fucking great.

 

Was not a fan of Titane. I just could not buy the plot at all. Directing, acting, cinematography was all on point but the story itself just could not do anything for me.

 

Really good book. Excited for the HBO series
