Loved my prius

 

I have a feeling they’re going to do this in Chicago too. I want customers (and co-workers) to wear masks but it takes up so much of my day having to enforce it, it becomes tiring so fast. And the pushback will be more intense now. Gotta love having to be the ones who have to enforce the law at our service jobs.

 

We have a fusion hybrid and love it minus the fact it’s horrific in the winter weather. Currently getting 38ish miles to the gallon compared to my Escape’s fantastic 22. We’d love to go full electric but the closest charging stations are 11 miles in the opposite direction we go to work and we’d have to completely redo our electric at the house to support a home charger (plus we don’t have a garage near the house)

 

My Honda Civic tells me I average 25.3 MPG, but they advertise 32 city / 42 hwy so I'm not sure what's up with that. I know NH is a bit hilly and windy, but damn

Still better than the 17 MPG I'd get out of my old 97 Lexus

That's my dilemma too. I really want a fully electric car, but the infrastructure isn't there yet for it to be anything other than a drive-around-town vehicle, so you still need some kind of gas-based car if you ever want to do long trips in timely manner

 

What’s even the likelihood he is sold twitter?

 

Been looking at trading my outback in for an all electric. Check out ABRP (a better route planner) and enter some trips you do or would do and it’ll map out your trip and tell you when and where to stop to recharge and how much charging will cost you.

Also don’t forget the feds give a 7.5k tax credit on EVs and a lot of states have credits as well CO has 2.5k so if I bought one here there’s 10k off the cost plus the savings long term for fuel prices and oil changes. Most EVs come with a 120v charger for slow over night charging at home. You can have a 240v installed in a garage for a grand or so for faster charging. There’s probably more EV stations near you than you think. My parents live in a small town MO and there’s a charger just down the road from them and lots more in the towns that they work in as well.

 

I’m on my second 2013 Civic and it usually says around 33 mpg.

 

It's funny that idiots like Musk want to buy Twitter because they know any social media site they create is going to suck. I don't think they understand that people like Twitter because there is some moderation, not in spite of it.

 

I took the subway from Brooklyn to Manhattan and back last night and I didn’t see any cops in the stations on my way there. Saw a couple standing around on my way back.

Obviously it was just one short trip so my experience is not at all a good representation, but I did not get the impression at all that the subways have a significant police presence.

 

We don't yet need a second car, but once we do (when the kids are a bit older and in different activities at the same time) it will be some form of all electric. It will also be good for groceries and other trips around town where driving our gas guzzling minivan just seems silly.

We'll still have to use the minivan for our summer trips since there are 5 of us, plus a dog and all our shit, and the 2 places we go are both 700+ miles / 12+ hours away.

 

I am selling my 4 series next week and then putting money down for a Polestar 2. At least that’s the plan.

They usually wait a week or whatever to reimpose the mandates to give businesses time to prepare and adjust things as needed and etc.

love seeing the mandates come back and hope more places do it as the numbers go back up. Unfortunately most won’t have the guts to do it because they’re spineless cowards.
