Few things make me cry laugh like his rendition of the Aristocrats.

Yeah you can hear his regular voice back in his old snl skits too:

  5. Not to mention Norm, really weird that all of these comics that came up together are passing at the same time.

I guess Aladdin is where we knew him from first (though he had oodles of films prior to that).

We also knew him from Cyberchase.

Norm, Bob and Gilbert gone, so close together. My heart hurts. Comedy is dead to me.

Add Louie to the list. It’s been a rough few months in the comedy world with losses.

The first time I remember Gilbert was on those commercials for fire safety, I think? Lol

Apparently he died from a rare muscle disorder.

My intro to GG was the Problem Child movies.
As some had pointed out, I always thought his real voice remained quiet because he was saving his vocal chords for when he had to be on camera, on mic, or on stage since he built up this persona.

Grew up watching Gilbert on Hollywood Squares of all things. Every time someone would choose his square he’d preface his answer with, “Oh, oh, I know this one,” in the most Gilbert voice. My family quotes that line to this day.

The documentary, “Gilbert,” is streaming on Peacock. It’s great.

i don't know if it's still on YouTube but some of the best gilbert stuff is from howard stern, near the start of the sirius era. just hours of him and artie riffing on the news. it's absolute gold.
