i may get better but we won't ever get well Prestigious

literally what is the point if this game runs worse than the original, that sucks. esp since the first game was super well optimized/scaled

Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed. I will say that turning anisotropic filtering down to 1x seemed to help. But this is ridiculous.

Who knows, can't trust outsourced work to be as polished really.

It seems as though the console versions are working fine. I am sure they will patch it very soon.

Not a shot at you or anything (more like a rant at gaming in general, your comment just kicked the thought off in my head), but this is a mindset that Ive seen develop more and more recently in video gaming and it bums me out.

Granted I know nothing about development, but the mindset of "oh this kinda sucks at release for ___________ issues but Im sure they'll patch it soon and fix it" is so wrong to me. Like, when I buy a game, I shouldn't have to worry about the product being poorly optimized or running badly or containing less content than advertised. The idea of patching and whatnot has become so prevalent and gamers seem to be accepting it in such a way that now a lot of modern games that come out experience some kind of issues at launch as if the creators know that it can be subpar at launch as long as they fix it with patches quickly.

Maybe it's just the casual way you said it (and how Ive seen others say it) but it just strikes me as wrong, as something that shouldn't be glossed over so nonchalant as "the norm" or w/e you want to call it. I just hope that games don't continue to get more rushed or get pushed out without proper testing because of this mindset that gamers seem to be accepting more and more.

None taken and you are right that day one patches are becoming the norm but it is doesn't always mean the game is rushed and broken per se. There are various scenarios and examples that could occur as to the reason for the patch(including game breaking issues of course). My comment was really more of offering sympathy to her for knowing it must be awful to not be able play something you have been looking forward to.

oh of course, I get your point that there are many reasons for it (probably more than I could ever list) and yeah, it is a shame she and others are experiencing issues with it.

I was just hoping it doesn't lead to more rushed out games in the future or rather that it doesn't reach a point where getting the game out the door is more important than making sure it's been thoroughly tested.

that is basically why I adapted the policy of wait and pick up later due to how broken some games have been.

The only game in the past few years that I've got first day were GTA V on 360, Black Ops 2 and Overwatch.

most of the games I due pick up tend to be a few months or a year old.

  9. Since I usually don't get a game until years after release, the problem I run into is the game not running correctly on the newer operating system. I tried to get Max Payne to work, I really did.

There's some bullshit patch you have to do. What OS are you on?

  11. Windows 10. I looked into the patch when I was on Windows 7 or 8 but couldn't get it to work. I kind of just moved onto other games; I'm sure I'll try again sometime.

Hmm. I'll have to do some research. That's really disappointing - Max Payne 2 is one of my all time favorite games. Iconic. I wonder if you might be able to play it in a VM or something. Considering how old it is, I bet that would be possible.

Kinda bummed that the RE7 demo update doesnt really change or show much. Like it has a 3GB update and all that's really different is a new area in the attic and the dummy finger goes to something now. What secrets is it hiding? Like why is there such a sizable update to it when you can't really do anything new?

I mentioned it before but gameinformer had gotten to play actual gameplay with the developers and they had said that the demo isn't even included in the actual retail game. With that being said, I would get too upset about them not adding much more to the demo. I will see if I can find the article.

Like I'm sorry for being rude about it but I am aware that it's not a part of RE7. I'm not too bothered by it or anything, I just think it a small bummer that a sizable update was added to it and there really wasn't much that was different or new outside of a few things. That and it makes me curious as to why the update was so big in the first place, maybe something is there and hasn't been unlocked or discovered yet. Maybe it's a red herring, idk. I just want to know more, I hate being left in the dark about things.

Updates this gen are just huge. That 3GB could have just been all uncompressed audio lol. :/

I mean, I get that but that's a pretty sizable one for a few texture changes, a sparse room in the attic, three new objects(that I've found), and a new phone message. I want to bbbblllliiieeevvveeee, mmmaaaannnn.

That's probably the route I'll go unless I get a killer deal. I'm a poor college student so I might take saving money over extra power.

At the end of the day I really should be building a pc.

Definitely wait on the scorpio, worst thing that happens is it's priced too high, but you'll see a chunk of Ones hitting the used market.
