I had good history teachers, that’s how i became a socialist. They didn’t intend for this to happen, but it’s the path they sent me down.

 

I roll my eyes every time I see the memes about “why doesn’t school teach us how to do taxes?!” And it’s like 1. Because learning how to use HRBlock is maybe like 1 class, maybe 2 if you’re lucky, and 2. Anything past the basics would probably require a CPA to teach it and none of them wanna get paid like shit to teach a bunch of teenagers what the property transfer tax or whatever is. They can just go make more money being a CPA.

we had a "financial literacy" class for seniors in high school and it was literally just learning how to write a check for the first class, and then the rest of the quarter was doing math problems for paychecks, taxes, bills, in a general ledger lmao

 

We had a learn to write a check and I think maybe balance the checkbook? I was like fuck this it's gonna all be online at some point and didn't pay attention.
