This movie is really bad, my main complaint though is how boring it was. Im not the biggest Marvel fan but i can usually find something enjoyed, this i am struggling with.

 

The subway scene was kinda cool with them fighting, but it lasted like 30 secs?

 

Yea, boring is the best one word review for this thing.

 

The weird thing is Leto does all this crazy method-acting shit, but it doesn't seem to accrue to his acting ability at all? Like, DDL takes a method approach but then turns around and gives you the performance of a lifetime. Leto pours his whole soul into these characters and it's just a wet fart.

 

Maybe his soul is a wet fart.

 

It all reminds me of this story about Dustin Hoffman trying to be method and getting confronted by Lawrence Olivier:

“A showbiz story involves his collaboration with Laurence Olivier on the 1976 film Marathon Man. Upon being asked by his co-star how a previous scene had gone, one in which Hoffmann’s character had supposedly stayed up for three days, Hoffmann admitted that he too had not slept for 72 hours to achieve emotional verisimilitude. “My dear boy,” replied Olivier smoothly, “why don’t you just try acting?””

 

dustin hoffman has turned in some of the best performances of all time. jared leto had turned in some of the worst.

 

Not comparing the two.

 

Leto peaked with Requiem, has never even come close to recapturing that.

 

Every scene is a new clean slate really does fit this movie

 

Forget Spider-Man’s teaming up. This is the team up the fans deserve. We’ve waited so long.

 

The more I think about this, the more annoyed I get, because I actually like the character Morbius quite a bit, and it sucks to know we're probably never going to get an adaptation ever again.

 

Why do you think we won’t get more of this? It surpassed its budget opening weekend. It’s not performing great, but it’s made enough Sony will likely plunge ever forward with their plans.

Edit: just looked up it’s box office and it’ll definitely eke out enough to double it’s budget which generally mean it’ll break about even. But it’s looking like it has become a record holder, tying Dark Phoenix as the largest drop after the first weekend. A whopping 83% drop.

I'm annoyed that this is the Morbius we now have to live with.

Not seen this yet but that second-weekend drop of 73.9% is pretty dire.

 

Not really related but this makes me think about the animated series Morbius and how Fox wouldn't allow him to suck blood so they redesigned the character to have little suckers in his hands that would drain plasma out of a body, which when you think about it is way more terrifying.

 

I find it hard to believe this makes back its marketing budget, given how long we've seen trailers. lol

 

Even opening day was hilariously slow for us. It’s hilarious that the studio demanded we show the movie so many times a day and most showings were pretty much empty
