because she's one thing in comparative/consensus reality and another thing if you're interested in the word leftist meaning you work toward socialism in a meaningful way

 

She doesn't want to publicly execute every moderately wealthy and rich person or overthrow the US Govt or ban private ownership, therefore she is not left.

I don't have data to prove it but I would guess that the majority of non-liberal, left wing people in the country are probably more in favor of social democracy rather than full fledged, state ownership of private enterprise/factors of production socialism. You don't HAVE to be "working towards socialism in a meaningful way" to be "left" of liberal, IMO

The way she dealt with the group organizing the Amazon union was really shitty and sucky. Not sure if that makes her overall suck but the way that was handled is really trash on her part.

 

If your argument is that AOC is a leftist because she fits in the demsoc overton window then I don't think we're actually having a conversation, just expressing our personal frameworks

 

idk the fact that the supposed left is busy shitting all over AOC, arguably one of the 5 most to the left people in all of congress, instead of trying to move the rest of the their representatives closer to AOC is probably also something you should sit and think about instead of running down your "how marxist is she really though" checklists.

AOC politely asking Biden to cancel student loan debt actually has more influence than any organizing group on the left can create.
