Just booked my plane ticket. A little nervous about it all but also actually excited again for the first time in a while. Going to fly in at 9:30 am on thursday - figure I'll spend some time hanging out in LA before I head over but is there like a recommended time to get there by on Thursday? I'm also wondering how hard it is to get out on Monday. My flights at 1:24 pm, do I need to be super worried about traffic and stuff?

 

I’ll be hitting up LA around the same time as you and I’m just hitting up the academy museum just to check out some exhibits.

You should also get there before sunset because like Steve said before the tradition of enjoying the sunset on Thursday night is a thing.

 

If you’re flying in LAX traffic will be kinda shitty heading towards Indio any time after noon.

If you’re flying to Ontario the traffic shouldn’t be too bad.

Not sure if you’re camping or not, if not they’ll be lots of fun parties in Palm Springs Thurs night. Usually some DJs will pop up and do unannounced sets.

 

I need The Weeknd to perform is there someone else? And then I can start floating to out of time when he plays that

 

Honestly, after tying to get to the campsite super early Thursdays for a good spot, the honestly answer is just "whenever you feel like." There's plenty to do all day Thursday no mater when you arrive. I'm going to just head out after work this year and probably get there around 7:00/8:00.

On Monday you'll be fine. People leave at all times of the day so you won't hit traffic Monday morning. I'll probably leave Sunday night personally

Getting to do one of my favorite things this year again. Sit in front of my computer, drink, and eat some pizza while I watch the live stream on Friday. I've discovered some of my favorite bands/artists this way. (War on Drugs, HAIM, Childish Gambino). Usually heavily watch on Friday and fall off on watching the other days. I have never stayed up late enough to watch a headliner.

 

If you're on the fence about the Danny Elfman set, looks like Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) and Josh Freese (The Vandals) will be joining his live band for the festival.

 

Putting together my must see lists and this lineup really is insane lol this doesn't even cover everyone honestly

Has anyone seen Doja recently? Trying to debate if I should make her a priority, saw some of her vids from Lolla South America and it looked rough af.

 

I'm gonna check her out if it fits in my schedule because it's sure to be an entertaining show no matter what. Music-wise I am far more into her older stuff than recent, but I'm not going to see her set for the music specifically

 

I'm most likely going to watch her unless there's a huge conflict. I agree with Steve that it will probably be a lot of fun just as a spectacle

 

She'll be right ahead of SHM x Weekend on the main stage, so most likely she's conflict with something else on that top line, maybe Jamie xx

 

That's who I had in mind as most likely to stop me from seeing her. It would be a pretty easy choice though - I've been wanting to see him for years and I have at least two more chances to see Doja this summer

 

doja just has hits which is why I was interested in seeing her women is a perfect song

 

Woman is definitely one of her better songs. I love when she gets more reggae-influenced, a lot more of that on Amala than later albums

 

I just wanna see her do Moo but I fear that's a dream that will go unfulfilled
