I had to go to the office today for the first time in almost 2 full years lol. I was definitely way less productive but you know I'm not used to it yet....but still lol. My company is being annoying about it though, if I had been working in this job pre-covid I would've been able to apply for full WFH and almost definitely would've got it, but they just don't have that application process at all anymore. All WFH decisions are made with covid in mind. Very annoying. At least the office itself is great, extremely modern and clean and free coffee and a (paid but very good for a workspace) cafeteria. The day of the week I have to go in is also the day they have $5 fancy lunches tho so that's nice. Today it was paninis

 

I feel like we will all be ready to retire/die by the time work from home is the norm for all office jobs

 

It seems like most companies I know about in nyc are allowing at least some form of hybrid work from home permanently. Foot locker is still 100% optional been going in like once a week just to meet people I've never seen in person before lol

Even hybrid is stupid. Who cares about being in the office twice a week.

 

Ever since the first week of the year, my dept. has made office attendance optional (before that it was two days a week) and they made the same choice for February but we never got an official word that people need to come back two days a week. But since March I’ve been coming in just on Thursdays.
