I think Biden should extend the pause on student loan interest “indefinitely” and just choose to never resume it

yes obviously he should just cancel it

 

Longer he pauses it, the harder it’s going to be to restart it

 

It is a bit weird because the macroeconomic numbers (minus inflation) are all quite good, if not slightly bubble-y, at the moment, yet on the ground I do know so many people who just graduated either from college or with a masters and just can't find anything on the job market. Several people I know ended up accepting the kinds of jobs (restaurant, doggy day care, etc.) that they worked in during college. I'm not sure where the discrepancy lies (a rapid increase in low-wage service jobs as opposed better paying, more stable employment maybe?) but I don't think the answer is simply "well, it's just a weird fantasy in the heads of Americans"
