finally did wrap up the third run through Triangle Strategy. Got 3/4 endings, took about 76 hours. Gonna shelve it for now and get back to the backlog.

I'm like 99% sure there was a way to turn off all motion controls in the Switch version

I think the non-motion controls aren’t standard button controls though, but weird workarounds

you can turn off the motion controls but then the directional swings of the sword gets mapped to the right thumbstick, and you gotta hold ZR (i think) to adjust the camera, which should be the other way around

You guys know what could fix that?
    A good emulator :3

i mean... the whole gimmick of having to hit enemies/swing+move your sword in a certain direction is kinda baked into most of the mechanics; how does emulation change that?

It could change the ZR thing you said with a simple mod

You say that but there are games you can't play on Switch Lite or in handheld mode made by Nintendo because they require either motion controls or detached joycons.

    Only like 1-2 switch, no?

Super Mario Party is another one and that came out much later.

Not to be confused with Mario Party Superstars which can be played in handheld.

Also, Ring Fit Adventure. You need the joycons to use the ring and legstrap.

So you *could* play these games, but only if you bought joycons separately and used the Switch Lite propped up or something, but you can't use them out of the box/natively in handheld.

Oh yeah Ring Fit is a no brainer.

Everyone knows the Switch Lite was for Pokemon players first and foremost

I don’t think the console was meant to play 3D like that imo. I just could never adapt to having such a big, fancy game for a handheld console. It wasn’t until I played animal crossing on a regular screen that I realized how much nicer it is. Some people just have eyes made of metal though lol

Chrono Cross getting meh reviews because of a lackluster port and performance, whatevs it has the fast forward battle mode, that's all I need!

I'm fairly certain at least 90% of my gaming time on the Switch has been in handheld mode. I'm a monster.

I think I had my switch 2 years before I ever played it in docked mode. My son was an infant/toddler and never wanted him to get his hands on it so I played exclusively while he would sleep while I was laying in bed.
