During and after the ‘08 recession and high unemployment, after I exhausted my unemployment benefits and then later the best I could do was part time work, I’d hear about those who aren’t counted as ones who left the workforce. Like, I wondered what did they do for survival. Move in with friends and family? Work and get paid under the table?
