    (:

And that’s how it should be, I was so excited to see them this summer. I’m still in shock.

came here to share this, too. not unexpected, but still just a punch in the gut at the reality of what has happened. im still heartbroken by this, and I'm just a massive fan. I cannot imagine what they are going through. my heart hurts for all of them, especially Taylor's kids. ugh.

Watching Wasting Light live from 606 and I forgot how much this record rules. Taylor fucking kills Rope.

    I’m bummed all over again.

Wasting Light is perhaps their second best record front to back. I am so thankful they always filmed so many things to watch the eras as they unfolded.

Finally listened to the Dream Widow album. Loved it.

It’s really amazing to me how much energy the band had stored up post-lockdown. It seemed rare for a band (and some of it was Dave working solo) to have an album, EP, documentaries, feature-length film, endless touring, etc. 25+ years later. They just seemed to be riding a nice wave. It just makes it all that more tragic.

I don’t think Wasting Light tops any of the first three but it’s not too far behind

come to think of it, I haven’t listened to any of the records since then.

The opening track and March of the Insane are both 11/10 for me on riffs and chugging alone.

For my taste, you can’t beat the trilogy of S/T, Colour and the Shape and TINTL. Wasting Light is also pretty much all killer. The rest have some big highs and a few middling spots. I think Sonic Highways was their biggest disappointment, considering the talent involved (the series is good though).

I found my old Everywhere But Home concert DVD from the One By One era and it absolutely fucking rules. Man, I had no idea I still had this. The setlist is fantastic.

Man, I’ve basically listened to nothing but Foo Fighters this past week and am really enjoying it.

    My ranking would be:

    1. There Is Nothing Left To Lose
    2. Colour and the Shape
    3. Wasting Light
    4. Self-Titled
    5. Echoes
    6. One By One

And then the rest in no particular order.

Watched Back and Forth for the first time yesterday. I’ve seen the Wasting Light portion before but not the rest.

Excellent documentary. I knew most of the story already, but to have them all talk about it was cool. I loved the footage of Chris’ audition for the band. Pretty that exists!

Obviously anything regarding Taylor made me feel very heavy hearted. The documentary just cements how Taylor was THE guy.

iirc Taylor wasn’t a fan of the doc because he felt uncomfortable talking about his overdose and looking back on some of the rough times with the band. I forget if he changed his mind once he saw it or if he ever watched it.

Re-listening to Echos and some songs hit harder than ever. FF really was on a special wave in the early-mid 2000's. I'm not sure the initial emotional impact of rock songs/videos like Best of You can be repeated again.

I can totally see that. You could sense the tension between everyone's point of view during that timeline.

Just finished Studio 666 for the first time. It was slapstick entertaining. The special effects were old school and gnarly haha. Pretty cool they got Jenna Ortega to be in this for a bit too.

My favorites were Pat and Rami.

Echoes is so underrated. Probably their most diverse album. I love the somber tracks like Statues and Home.
