Completely agree, for about 3 months. And then AEW is using the Codyverse time to push new stars and Cody is getting the Finn Balor treatment at a hilarious price

You have to imagine the he’ll be contending for the WWE unified title.

 

Truly wild to think that Cody completely reinvented himself; and all WWE has done in the meantime is become more efficient at wasting talent. If he had returned to WWE rather than start AEW, he might have gotten everything Adam Cole did. Instead, it really feels like he'll be forgotten by Summerslam

 

He was never their poster child, he tried to position himself as it, but Jericho was their flagship to start.

In just the last month alone (heck half of this is the last week), AEW has added Toni Storm, William Regal and Samoa Joe. So its a pretty weak response.

Furthermore... its not really the talent that makes AEW what it is. Its how they actually approach running their brands and their shows. WWE could poach 10 guys back from AEW and if they don't make any changes to how the show is run its not going to make any difference
