A spring/summer new Gaslight album next year is EXACTLY what we all need. No winter releases lol

Think its safe to say after reading that interview that the new Gaslight album is gonna sound like a new Gaslight album. I'm sure it'll have its' own identity and feel like all the others do, but I don't think they're gonna throw any weird new curveballs at us.

Awesome interview, can’t wait for the shows but now I really can’t wait for summer 2023. Love the story of him bringing the songs to Benny.

Word on the street is NJ show announcement next week, so hopefully that means another round for plenty of other areas then too.

yea Fallon's talk about missing "rock n roll" and being in a band has me thinking this next one's gonna be nice and loud and anthemic

What label do we think they'll end up on? I could see them as an Epitaph group.

Odds of them going back to SideOneDummy?

  8. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they stay independent and use Thirty Tigers for marketing/distribution like Brian has for the last couple solo albums.

I’d be surprised if they signed anywhere

    Things have changed.

They'll just license it to someone

Wasn't a big part of their hiatus label overreach? I'd be surprised if they went back to a bigish label

I also imagine “being the biggest band in the world” isn’t really the dream anymore lol

Definitely will be. Brian knows the expectations that come with a Gaslight album, and though I’m sure they’ll try to get creative and subvert those expectations on a track or two, they’re not a band that says “the fans want this so we’re gonna swerve and give them this crazy shit!” (I mean, they talked about Get Hurt like it was so different our brains were gonna melt and it ended up sounding like a Gaslight record for the most part lol).

Still it was cool to read about the thought that went into this decision. It’s funny, I remember when Local Honey dropped I was like “oh yeah TGA’s done, Brian’s entering his mid-career chill songwriter era.” Pumped that that album had the opposite effect and dude said yeah let’s blow some speakers out again.

Literally if I read this same interview any time in the last 7 years I would think it was an April Fool’s joke.

Hearing him say these things is literally what we as fans have been craving to hear for a long time. Incredibly excited!

They for sure have a big enough following to do a self release. I can only see a label being involved because they are also big in the EU and UK and a label would make dealing with multiple markets easier

Is the Met a nice venue? PNC is a bit closer, but I think I'm leaning towards the Philly show

I'm doubting they add a second Jersey date. That's what would encourage me to make the trip.
