Toni’s theme is so good

 

look man I needed a clean bathroom and a quick salad for dinner. It was like 4 mins walking distance from the venue.

I went to bed ridiculously early. Missed Toni debut, just saw it though, what a pop and what a great theme.

 

Personal highlights of the evening:

- Seeing Ruby Soho wrestle and win, even though it was on Dark Elevation.

- Seeing Big Show/Paul Wight get the pop of his life in his hometown.

- CM Punk

- House of Black

- The entirety of Rampage - whole card is incredible (Top Flight/Bucks especially, and Hobbs/Keith Lee)

- THUNDER ROSA

- Mox/Brian Danielson/William Regal things

- Wheeler Yuta being over as can be.

- Undisputed Elite, the pop Hangman got

- TONI TIME

- Sitting down and putting up both middle fingers to stupid idiot Chris Jericho's dumb buttrock song (Judas only played when he came out to the arena for Rampage announcing, which may be the best part of seeing Rampage live. I didn't have to hear Jericho on commentary).

- the absolutely thunderous pop the Hardys got at the end of Dynamite

- The entire Darby/Andrade match. Darby killed himself like 50 times. Andrade needed that win. Here for it.

Tony Khan is so endearing and awkward. Maybe one day his dad will sell the whole Jaguars team to him so they can make good choices for once.

Probably won't go to another live AEW taping for a while, but the fun I had was high level amazing. I'm exhausted, but happy.

For me, it was my first time doing anything of significance with large crowds since the pandemic began. It felt very celebratory for everyone there. Good times.

 

AEW live is a goddamn party. I wasn't going to go to the Boston show next week because I was just at the CT one, but now I'm checking the resale market...

Same. Except I'm not too excited about having the sit in those seats for that long. Only been to one Wings game there and upper deck was not comfy at all.

Does his dad really influence sporting decisions for their teams though? I've always had the impression Tony has more influence than his dad on the Jags and Fulham. I suspect he just has a better mind for wrestling. Not that that's necessarily a criticism, running sports franchises surely isn't easy.

 

shad khan is like james dolan in the NBA where he cares, is willing to spend money, and generally stays out of direct football matters, but he then hires idiots/assholes (Baalke, Urban Meyer, Coughlin) to make the football decisions that run the team into the ground.

 

Nailed it. Shad is just an absentee owner who doesn’t understand American Football at all. Tony gets it, and I’m convinced the Jags will never be a realistically good team until Shad is gone (and thus Baalke too).

talk about someone who is a fucking heel if he were to be a pro wrestler. Trent Baalke can get fucked.

Don’t know if I’ll be able to catch live since it’s Fiesta here and plus got a lot of things going on personally.

 

I guess my point was that I'd always had the impression that because Shad was so disengaged, it's Tony that actually may have had more influence on their bad personnel hires.

Yep. The collective which has all the GCW stuff is $140 and Wrestlecon is $75 I believe. I ended up buying the Wrestlecon bundle along with the select GCW shows I want to watch. If you use the app on your phone you can earn credits for these purchases. I earned enough credits that I was able to get Supercard of Honor for free. Pretty sweet deal. You’re able to go back and watch it all on your own time. There’s too much going on to watch it all live anyways. Like tonight JJSB is same time As Wrestlecon Supershow and tomorrow Gringo Locos Lucha show is same time as ROH. It’s gonna be a crazy few days.
