They can definitely do the "we back" tour without any new shit. And then save LP6 as an excuse for a follow up tour next year.

Overly excited for the band to be back together. Seriously cannot wait to see what they have in store for us. I wonder how the hiatus has influenced their sound.

Curious to hear this story from your perspective now that the announcement is out there. I imagine you have a friend in or near the band so I’m not gonna ask who but more so just the when you heard how, was it 100% or just an inkling and was it absolute hell keeping it quiet lol

Known for like two months now when they did the photo shoot. Didn't have all the details but knew the tour was coming and figured a new album would follow after that

Finally calmed down after a couple hours and a few excited phone calls lol.

Don’t want to get all heavy but man this is a special day. I discovered Gaslight when I was 15, they released their last album when I was 20. Those are such formative weird years of experiencing great and awful feelings for the first time and trying to figure out who you are, and this band was a constant thread throughout. The music, the live shows, the corny 50s greaser poet mystique Brian Fallon had in ‘08-‘10 which wasn’t corny at all to a teenager romanticizing the mundane, all of it. Stumbling upon the 59 Sound on a random school night was like — insert cheesy cliche about the power of music here — legitimately transformative to the kid I was back then.

Since then I’ve thought of Gaslight much like I’ve thought of all the experiences and relationships I had during those years. The music didn’t go anywhere obviously but the excitement, anticipation, the emotions I associated with it all, that was a good thing that was now just a fond memory. I can’t wait to feel that excitement and anticipation again, and to continue hearing those songs that impacted me so much when I was younger.

Not to get all nostalgic and over-sentimental but we’re talking about the Gaslight Anthem after all.

So, when do we think dates will be announced? Sometime early next week and Friday general on-sale with a few presales in the days before?

Yeah I am thinking Friday general on-sale but there will be some pre-sales through the week I am guessing. Extremely anxious about the dates as I have 6 weddings (including my own) & some bachelor parties all taking up the summer/fall.

Absolutely begging them to come to Boston on a Tuesday haha

Found them when I was 23. Pretty much love at first listen.

I found them when i was 18 and a freshman in college. My roommate forced me to listen to them because we were seeing them with Rise Against, Alk3 and Thrice. They/Brian Fallon's solo albums have been the soundtrack to pretty much every big moment of my life. Today means a lot.

Y'all liked them a ton so I bought American Slang digitally for $5 on Amazon and liked, but didn't love it. 45 is what really hooked me.

I didn't have the opportunity to get into gaslight anthem until later because I was on a goddamn mormon mission during 2007 (wasn't allowed to listen to music for two years). There was too much music to catch-up on, so they weren't on my radar.

Just another thing to add to the list of stupid things that fucking cult stole from me lol.

  25. I got a free download of 59 Sound in probably March of 2009 as part of a free trial on some long-since-disappeared mp3 site that was trying to be an itunes/Amazon music alternative. Listened to it that night in bed on my shitty MP3 player and folks not a lot of bands have ever blown me away that much on first listen since
