Been super busy with work and my 6 week old son, but heres a quick break down of the Chicago show.

    FUCKING AWESOME

    thumbnail_IMG_4095.jpg thumbnail_IMG_4097.jpg

My wife and I got to see soundcheck and meet the dudes and they were beyond nice and polite.

Soundcheck was really awesome, got to see them perform M+Ms and The Only Thing That Matters. Was really stoked to see that since Matt's verse is one of my favorites on the album.

I'll put all my videos together later tonight for a little montage.

Matt gave me a pick after he played The Only Thing That Matters and I also caught a pick from Neil from ADTR. We got two signed posters from the meet and greet and all the other jazz - bought my wife the Blink hoodie and I got the event poster which was limited to 182 pieces and had a take on the Chicago Bears which is fucking awesome.

It was my brother in laws first show and I got him and my sister in law seats 15 rows back from stage, but for Blink I took off my wife's Pit bracelet and had her stay in there while I met him around the corner and gave him the bracelet to get into the pit for Blink - worked like a charm it was awesome to see him soak it all in.

10/10 night for me and the fam - plus we made it out of the parking lot in 10 MINUTES! Last few times there has taken 2 hours + it was awesome haha

It's funny because when the 2nd break up happened Travis seemed more upset and really bashed Tom more than Mark did and did it in multiple interviews. Mark was a lot more PC about it. Seems like Travis forgave Tom and is on good terms with him but whether he wants to work with him again who knows.

Again I really don't see how the 3 of them can or will work together unless Tom's ego gets in check and he agrees to get a producer, label and to actually sit in a studio together for a few months to work on the album. Of course then there's the whole going on tour for 3 months straight which doesn't seem like something Tom wants to do anymore. Really just so much grey area.

Family man taking care of the family by giving them a dose of Blink! I love it, man! Glad you and the family had a great time!

That latest Tom quote is pretty innocuous. At least for him.

I'm not sure what's so hard to grasp about what he said. He does own it, and if he wasn't okay with it he could be making things way worse than they are right now. I have no doubts that he could tie this all up in legalities if he wanted to. Granted, he likes to have the money coming in so this is in his best interest, but I believe he could totally fuck this all up.

  7. Honestly, I'm sure Tom will come back at some point, even just for a tour. $$$

Is it just assumed by people who think he'll be back at some point that Mark will forgive him for the 3rd/4th time? I'm not asking to be sardonic, I'm only recently learning about the guy but so far it seems to me while he may be nice and understanding, the things he's said have made it clear that he has limits and he wouldn't be doing Blink if he didn't genuinely have fun and passion for it, which it seems Tom is the only person or thing that can take that away from him. Him working with Tom just doesn't seem plausible to me anymore.

I hope Mark is kicked out of the band and replaced with Tom.

The Tom, Matt and Travis show!!!

  10. How crazy would it be if Mark and Travis ended up being cool with Tom again, Tom rejoins the band, shows excitement and interest in making an album and a huge tour, pumping Mark and Travis up, only to pull out (once again), and then Mark and Travis being like, "YO PEACE!", and leave Blink-182. rather than the other way around, leaving Tom all alone with his precious Blink-182 but no actual band? BOOM!!!!!!!!

Mark would never do that, but still... what a situation that would be.

The funny thing is I think Tom showed the most excitement saying there would be a new record, he talked about being ready to go into the studio, they were talking to labels. And from what we know he blew off getting in the studio three times I think?

I really don't think Mark would let himself be fooled again by Tom. If AVA and all his other projects didn't exist, he would have zero use for blink. But it's obviously a big band and a great promotional tool for his other stuff. I really think that's all it is to Tom now. His heart is in everything else, which is fine. But like just enjoy whatever residuals you see from that, be happy doing your own space/alien/novel stuff, stuff you're actually passionate about and let blink be happy. So frustrating that he constantly needs to chime in. At least it hasn't hurt the band seemingly.

Tom just saw the chatter in this forum slowing down, so he felt obligated to bring up blink again to get us posting once again.

In all seriousness, if Tom rejoined blink, Mark would leave... no question about it.

Yeah I don't understand why anyone would think Mark and Travis would just welcome Tom back with open arms or that Tom would be willing to compromise with Mark and Travis to make a new record/tour they way they did with California.

With California being so popular it should just go to show Mark and Travis they don't need Tom anymore.

I don't know I just have a hard time seeing Tom back in Blink anytime soon.

Not gonna lie I think Mark is stuck in the past enough that he'd let Tom back in

What does this even mean? Lol are they supposed to not play their biggest hits that the majority of 20,000 people want to see every night? Their biggest hits that Tom played on and wrote? Is he supposed to hate everything that made them such a huge band?

If he was stuck in the past he wouldn't even have considered replacing Tom in the first place.

They don't need to let him back in. That's not the issue. It's not about him coming back. It's more about when the time comes that he wants to, and they don't let him, he'll most likely be able to stall anything moving forward with legality and he knows that.

There's an agreement, that's likely favorable for Tom right now. But all this "our lawyers are working it out" is bullshit. Tom isn't going to give that up, ever. He's made that quite clear. They'll either have to let him back in or it'll get messy in court, likely freezing any production of new music, tours, or whatever.

Tom can't force Mark to play in a band with him. I think Mark would rather end blink than go through that uncertainty of Tom as a band and tourmate and what would only be a further erosion of their musical compatability. Tom people can want Tom back all they want but I don't think Mark would even try to make music with him again.

That's what I'm saying, that blink likely just ends when the time comes that Tom wants back. And if doesn't, then it sits for quite sometime while they sort it out (and hope to beat him in court.)

It's not really being in a band. It's a multi-million dollar machine/brand/company at this point. If Tom isn't willing to leave, they'll eventually have to force his hand and that's probably when it just ends.

Fully expecting the blink show I'm going to next Saturday to be the last :(

Coincidently it's at the same venue I saw blink for the last time before their first break up.

I wonder if Mark can legally tour with Travis and Matt as "Blink-182 w/ Matt Skiba" if Tom tries to legally stop them from touring/making new music. Mark owns the other half of Blink so he has the right to use the name.

All this legal stuff makes my head hurt especially since we really have no clue what rights or agreements they have in place.

I don't even try to guess at the legal stuff. Unfortunately I'm at a disadvantage because all the Tom fans were all at the proceedings for when they drew all this stuff up. Perhaps Tom secretly streamed the legal meetings on Modlife?
