Parkway used to be great but the last album or two or three have not been good.

black dahlia murder is the only band i've actively consider seeing out of those 3 in 2022, and that's probably in a support role at best. i'll just leave my thoughts at that.

I'm hoping to see Parkway at So What, but I'm mostly interested in their set for the sheet spectacle. From what I heard their tour is supposed to have pyro.

If I remember correctly, its suppouse to be the same production as their European Tour from 2019. Not as crazy as Rammstein's, but I think its cool

They probably were billed there because the headliners refused to be listed behind JA (a geezer act at this fest).

Yeah it's wild, apparently the Madison Square Garden show sold out in like 5 minutes. Meanwhile the two newly added My Chem shows have been on sale for like 2 week and are still only half sold.

I understand that he's popular, but it's this level of popularity that is mind boggling. Mainly because I only know like 1 person who calls themselves a fan.

Who is actually attending these MGK shows? As an adult, its so easy to see through his punk cosplay, lack of vocal talent, gross past, and co-write heavy tunes.

Is this crowd mostly under 22? If so, maybe I could understand not caring about authenticity or such. It's just sad when you see people cash a check on a scene you care so much about...

I think that's what bothers me most about that tour. Fine if you wanna "cosplay" as a pop punker, but rather than bring along pop punk artists who have been struggling for the past decade he keeps bringing along a bunch of other cosplaying artists (although I do really wanna see Avril live).

Just based on the type of people I see buying tickets for his shows, fanbase is largely teenage girls for whom MGK is their first forray into rock music. Also a lot of college-age dudes with eclectic music tastes tend to like him too.

  25. Am very certain that way way more people watch/listen to Billy Strings live sets on YouTube than play stuff on Spotify fwiw
