Yea, has that version ever been officially available? I know there was a version of the studio version with the intro, but I think it was fan made on YouTube.

The post reminded me that I never saw the movie that spoken word intro is from. Is Beautiful Girls worth a watch?

I highly doubt it’s a tour as they are already on the TEB tour and will be doing dates with MCR in the fall. Unless they announce they are playing the album on the TEB tour which would be hilarious haha

I'm guessing it's a 20th anniversary re-release. It would be cool if it had some bonus never heard before material.

is there anything left from that era that hasn't already been heard?

yeah, on this re-release everything on the left side of the stereo field will now exist in the right and vice versa.

TBS has repeatedly posted on social media that they aren’t doing another TAYF tour. Definitely just a re-release or something.

    Are You Watching Closely?

IF they were going to do ANYTHING live for it, itd be fun to see them in a small room with a frenzied crowd just run through the album professionally recorded audio and video and then slam the door on it forever

If The Downtown still existed on Long Island that would be the perfect spot for an anniversary show.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

    Ugh, The Downtown. My heart.

Backstreet Blues (now known as Vibe Lounge) in Rockville Centre would also be a fitting option.

I’m curious what a TBS record would sound like in 2022. By the time they release it, it’ll probably be 7 years since Tidal Wave, and if they continue the same exact sound then it’ll be super underwhelming IMO since fans have waited incredibly long for new material.

Would love to see something new and exciting or even just a return to the Louder Now era sound would work too. Ever since Nolan came back, it’s been super hit or miss (for me personally) with it being more so the latter, so I’m not anxiously waiting for another record but I am intrigued what they come up with after having this much time to write.

Also just listened to the original intro to Great Romances for the first time in ever and I hate it lol

20 year anniversary of TAYF is what they have been teasing. It’s out may 27th and is 14 tracks with 4 demos

I’d be interested if it got a re-recording - but just give me something new instead.

As much as I enjoy Tidal Wave (there are some absolutely great tracks on there), I still think Happiness Is... is one of their best albums and feel like they didn't fully explore/follow up on the sound of that album with TW. Give me Happiness Is... Part Two!

Happiness is remains a very bland and characterless album, tidal wave is uneven but at least has some of their trademark charisma within it. Happiness is is just so plain

No one rides that one album train as hard as TBS. Tell All Your Friends just isn’t an album that I throw on a lot. It kind of just gives me a headache. Shame they didn’t capitalize on putting out something new but guess a re-release and merch drop will be more profitable. Can’t say that I blame them.

  24. Only 4 demos and doesn’t even include the two bsides? These guys suck at putting together a good anniversary package. Boooo!
