I know i've seen a few people in here suggest the same.

Had to recheck Thiel's Wikipedia page. Aside from a law degree from Stanford, this is the extent of his legal career: "Thiel clerked for Judge J. L. Edmondson of the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit for one year."

I'm not sure anyone thought that Bernie supporters were ardent socialists. Their lack of fear when it came to that term shows that they're open to it, however. Their attraction to Johnson mirrors, more or less, their attraction to Sanders, which is they both argued for a fundamental reorientation of the system itself. The issue is, the indeterminate way in which we assign politics categories, so the support of gay marriage means one is liberal or something, which people take to mean universally, but couldn't be farther from the truth. I mean, young people are not happy with capitalism as some polls show, but Johnson would prefer to privatize everything and I think that gets lost in the transmission of politics in the American arena.

Do polls indicate his support is drawn from the same well as sanders?

Haven't seen it by age, which is what we're really interested in here. Overall, they are going to Johnson more than Stein.

But they are still primarily going to Clinton, no? The biggest number I saw of Sanders -> Johnson was somewhere around 15-18%. Which isn't insignificant, obviously, but I feel like there needs to be more evidence than Yglesias, who sucks, making some point on twitter without any.

  23. Not in that age range. All demos, yes, in this specific age range they broke to the other three candidates in bigger numbers (so far). That 18-34 range is peculiar and scary.
