revolver variants have typically been among the most limited for every release theyve gotten, not irregular.

I like to imagine Oso Oso is taken from TSL Photography “we’re oh so, oh so close”

this sounds more different than similar to either of the last two to me, while still being very obviously an Oso Oso record. the arrangements are more spacious, looser, more melodically/harmonically playful. there’s a ton of acoustic guitar here, which wasn’t a huge presence on the last two outside of dedicated solo acoustic tracks iirc, a fair amount of piano (which I don’t really remember at all in their music prior), and the songs on the whole feel less labored over. I also get the sense this album is way less personal (speaking purely on the lyrics I have been able to pick out, I am aware the circumstances surrounding the record makes it a very personal one for Jade) and has less of an over-arching narrative, so the songs feel more self-contained lyrically, though they’re definitely well-tied-together sonically. idk, only on my second full listen so far so I am sure my thoughts will evolve.

I think I really love this

  7. This band has always been kind of on my periphery, opening tours for some of my favorites, but back in September I really turned a corner when I saw them play a tiny headliner on LI the night before supporting TFB in NYC.

Pretty fucking pumped for this on my long drive tomorrow.

I think that Basking in the Glow was pretty close to a perfect album for me, so I didn't expect this one to top it on my first listen. On my second listen now and not everything has hit right away, but I do really, really like this. "Describe You" and "Carousel" both have to be among my favorite songs of theirs. And some of the songs that didn't really stand out on the first listen I like a lot more this time around. I think I'll end up loving this album as well.

"Pensacola" was something of a tease for a first single though. Nothing else on the album really sounds that much like it

I’ve always liked not loved this band and after listening to this once I think it’s still that way. I do feel like they’ve branched out musically on this compared to their last two and I like that. There are some cool chord progressions on here that I didn’t hear anything like them in their previous stuff. I’m excited to listen to this more.

    Not newbie, I think Supporter

I dig it, has a silversun pickups x saves the day slowed down feel. I don't feel like this is a rockout in the car or at the gym album but just something to always pop on in the background for me or at the park or beach. I'm sure it will grow even though I already like it. Sounds more consistent than Basking and the varied guitar parts are really cool. I like when Jade belts which I always feel like he doesn't do enough and it has less just straight catchy vocal melodies. Overall, I'm excited to give this 5-10 spins and see what I think. Def. a solid album and worth listening to multiple times at least.

I am loving this. Maybe there could've been some improvements with more fleshed out production, but honestly the story and vibe makes the record feels so sincere. So good.

I find this to be so different than Basking which is my favorite. This is good though and maybe it'll grow more on me.

Gave the album another listen and I would say I dig almost half of the record?

Computer exploder, nothing to do, fly on the wall, sunnyside, nothing says love like hydration are solid but the rest range from meh to skip for me.

the first six tracks have all been hit after hit after hit. the raw production works and is a touching tribute to his cousin for sure. loving every bit of this. definitely big saves the day vibes.

Was half expecting not to be into this given a lot of the reactions (Basking In The Glow is by far my favorite) but yeah, every song here is an ear worm and I think the production stands alone just fine. These songs are pretty damn great as is. This and Charli are pretty easily my two favorite things released this year and they’ve both been out for less than 48 hours lol.
