All of this just makes me miss the days of having to regularly check a band's outdated website for any updates or tickmaster.com for any upcoming shows.

 

i'm not calling out any one specific individual but, it happens a lot in threads like this one. fan entitlement is so annoying. the MCR thread for a while was just unbearable with people getting so pissy that they weren't announcing new music and were staying quiet during the pandemic because all their shows were cancelled.

a site-beloved band we all thought defunct is going to play some shows this year, and somehow folks are still finding ways to get mad.

 

Preach it Sean. Preach it!

 

I do miss outdated band websites.

 

Everyone on this website is way too protective. I love this band, but I’m not afraid to say that changing panels to maroon on social media and not following up with something shorty after is a little underwhelming.

I’m happy there is some activity, but I’m not gonna get too excited until there is real news or an announcement.

If it is a tour, I would think selling tickets is the main goal. And quickly. And fan or customer approval does matter.

We are taking about metrics on bringing a new product to market and finding the target audience or measuring reach. Gaslight could literally send a tour announcement to 25 music publications and update their social media and sell out.

Also, I seem to recall a week or so of teasing ahead of the '59 Sound 10-year tour, and I think they did just fine with that.

The brilliant move with that tour was announcing a re-release of ‘59 Sound along with the tour. They could talk about making the record with music publications and I gave fans something new to purchase. The crowd size huge at the show I went to.

 

I shall not be announcement teased or wait in long lines.

 

So you’re saying a week long tease to a re release and a tour worked well, but are complaining they’re teasing for too long, when it hasn’t been as long as the 59 sound reunion tour was

incredible. Just constantly contradicting.

I mean, we don't know what it is. Could be a Handwritten repress for all we know, and a tour to coincide. Presumably a summer tour, and it's March. I think we're all fine to wait a few more days.
