Today is all about Stabbing Westward for me.

I was 14 years old when they released their last album and remember having to save two weeks of pocket money to buy their CD after placing an import order with HMV. I remember the anticipation of waiting for that album and the excitement when the 2 week wait was worth it.

I never thought I'd wait have to wait 21 years for a follow-up to that album, but here we are. Today is very special.

That album was definitely a huge influence on this, wish that band was still around! Been kicking myself for not going to the shows they played a couple years back.

    Gonna check this out today.

I can't believe it's been so long since a studio album. I do remember they released an EP the other year, Dead and Gone. I really enjoyed that - hoping for similar quality on the full-length.

It has delivered on all fronts for me. I can't believe they sound this good after so much time has passed.

The Dead and Gone EP songs are all present on here but reworked, which was a nice surprise. I was a bit disappointed when I saw I had already heard 5 of the 10 songs through the EP and 2 singles, but those reworks are very different to the originals so it still felt very much like a full new album listening experience.
