  1. and there was always unmastered album leaks too, "back in the day."

Totally agree, that album is extremely special. The diversity while still being cohesive, the trade off of John and Michelle's vocals, I honestly love that album so so so much. Gonna listen today, thanks

I listen to that album all the time. One of my most played records, actually.

It was my fav album of that year, I really miss that band. The last two EPs were both really cool, but it was such a bummer that they broke up the band because they basically couldn't live off the (lack of) income from the band

I thought it was cool that they played "Existentialism On Prom Night" when TBS first reunited. I would love if they worked a few of those covers in to the set list again, but I doubt that will happen.

Yeah it was definitely one of the best albums of that year. Completely agree about the EPs that followed.

Never got that into TBS beyond jamming beyond jamming Tell All Your Friends a few times and the singles from some other albums, but all the discussion in here and hype for the new album is making me want to dig deeper. Gonna jam as many of their albums as I can get to for the rest of the day, maybe all of them. TAYF is still a jam and a half.

Louder Now is one of my favourite albums from the genre, so definitely check that one out

Louder Now's b-sides are some of Taking Back Sunday's best songs too ("Sleep" and "Brooklyn (If You See Something, Say Something)"

Same. I could have bought that years ago and passed because funds were tight. I've regretted that decision for a long time now

Would like to hear your thoughts on New Again once you get to it

Opinions on that album were incredibly divided back in the day. So many discussions.

So I guess you could say nothing has changed.

"What's It Feel Like to Be a Ghost?" is easily my favorite of their album openers out of the three albums I've heard so far (currently listening to Louder Now).

lol remember the Scott Heisel review for NA. He praised THE FUCK out of that album. Weirdly enough, and im almost disgusted in myself for this, i kind of agree with a lot of what he says. NA has this dark, menacing, aggressive atmosphere about it.

Yeah and Summer, Man and Swing are two of their best tracks. Great closer also. YOU QUOTE THE GOOD BOOK WHEN IT'S CONVEINIIIIIET

"Everything Must Go" feels similar to "Better Homes and Gardens" in terms of the lyrics and overall "feels"

    But it's no 5 star album...maybe 4 stars.

Just remembered the tour for this album starts on Friday in Chicago, and I'm gonna be there. I wonder who can get closer to the high notes in MakeDamnSure these days, me or Adam

lately it's been getting late, but i'm not tired

At the holiday pop-up shop acoustic set last year John did Existentialism so I don't think it's absolutely 100% out of the question

This may not be the popular opinion (maybe it is idk), but Louder Now is peak TBS. The perfect mix of their aggressive and poppier sides, their best vocals, flawless production. I can understand liking the more "raw" side of the band more, but I think this album shows them at their best. Enjoying the FUCK out of this.

I've gotta go with "You Know How I Do" as my favorite opener. It's just a great anthemic opening track. The bridge on "WIFTBAG?" (lol, WIFTBAG) is something else, though. Great tunes.
