Damn, speaking of monitors a flurry of leaks regarding tomorrows event have broke and apparently Apple's cheaper 27inch Studio Display at $1,000 will launch this week.

From the renders it looks very nice but I wish it would have been 32inch+.

Eagerly waiting tomorrow's event now.

 

I haven't done enough research on the QD tech yet. To be honest, I've kinda shied away from monitor news lately, mostly due to not being able to afford whatever's coming LOL. I bought the Alienware AW3420DW in 2020, and it's been fantastic for work/gaming use on Windows PC's. I can't recommend any 3440 x 1440p monitor to use with newer Mac's though, mostly due to asset sizes in more recent macOS releases. As the years have went on, Apple has made icons and fonts so tiny, they don't look good (or are just outright unreadable) on "non-retina" displays. If buying a monitor for a Mac, I'd stick with a 4K or higher display. I'm holding out for either Apple's next consumer-grade monitor (possibly coming tomorrow), or a 5K ultrawide to replace my current one, but I don't see those becoming affordable for at least a few years.

Of course, nothing Apple makes is necessarily "affordable", but here's to wishful thinking that new monitor sticks with a $1000 price point. I remember everyone wanting Apple to sell the 5K display from the iMac as a standalone monitor, but they never pursued that.

 

Damn. I just got a new 14" MBP. This thing is so fucking nice. The design is reminiscent of my first ever apple product the Powerbook G4.

Pretty sure it’s more powerful or basically on par with my 11” 2020 iPad Pro now.
