As many as there are people willing to buy them. And they do buy them.

 

I get that but damn, it's like a new one gets announced every few weeks. It's started to get over saturated at this point.

 

I'm all for the collections/remasters. Gives me a chance to play older console games that I missed out on. Right now I'm enjoying going through the Resident Evil rereleases - almost done with 4 and then Im gonna pick up 5 and the origins collection.
Also really excited for the Arkham and Crash collections.

If Crash collection does good, think they'll make a new one? And one that isn't terrible like any after Warped?

Crash Team Racing? I thought that came out in between 2 and Warped? If not, then I didn't mean to rope that in as bad. I think it's better than Mario Kart actually.

 

Also I hope CTR is on the collection

Edit: I also liked Bash for what it was, but I highly doubt that'd be on the collection since Naughty Dog didn't do it.

 

All I want is a Mass Effect collection because I could always replay those games and there's a fair amount of DLC I never got around to.

 

Give me a KOTOR I/II remaster

 

Dead Rising is soooo good. I really hope Dead Rising 4 can recapture some of the magic of the original (just without the time restrictions lol)

 

Just go buy them on Steam, any modern computer can run those games and there are mods out the ass for them.

 

Where are the Duke Nukem Forever, COD Ghosts, Green Day Rock Band, Thief 2014, and Barbie's Horse Adventure remasters?

 

I demand an HD remake of Crysis 3

 

I'm thankful for a lot of remasters and collections because I switched from 360 to PS4 this gen and I missed a lot of games like TLOU and Uncharted the first time around. Also missed a lot of games early on in the last generation because I was too young to buy M games, haha.

 

I get that collections are cool for people who missed out, I'm not beating on that. I am however beating on the large glut of them coming out though, it honestly feels like a new one gets announced every other day lately.

 

I only have an old laptop, no modern computer unfortunately.

 

Why though? It's not like the collections are being released instead of new games. We're still getting a ton of new games all the time. If you're not interested in the collections then that's absolutely fine, but I don't see any reason to complain.

 

Well when people do countdowns to said collections and remasters it's a good laugh.

I just finished a 45 minute game of smite conquest ranked that was amazing.

I started off the game pretty bad because I was forced into a role I'm not very good at. I had died three times already so my teammate was getting on me for being bad. I proceeded to get 8 straight kills and absolutely dominate my lane. I was super pumped. Four straight wins in ranked conquest.

 

Thinking of picking up DQVII but I've never played any of them before. Is this a good one to start with? Anyone else picking it up?

 

Well part of the problem I have is that it is clearly a cash grab for companies re-releasing barely old games with minor enhancements and then slapping a $60 sticker on the front. That's total trash and they know it. Like again, it's great for people who didn't get to play those games but charging full price for games you can just buy for less than $10-20 new or used at Gamestop is trash. Plus, I find that many of these games don't really need it right now and it's just a waste of resources that could be used for new games but are instead used to reheat leftovers. Games like REmake/RE0 and OG Dead Rising are fine, they were exclusives to a particular console and many people didn't play them. Arkham/Bioshock/AC whatever though? Nah, I'm not really down with that personally. If people want to invest in those game collections, more power to them. I won't be throwing tomatoes at someone if they missed out on the Bioshock series and want to play it but lack a previous generation console to do so. I just find the current practice to be lame and I wish it was done better.

 

That's just not how console owners operate. Many, if not most, console gamers get rid of their last gen console when the new one comes out. Buying cheap original versions doesn't matter when they don't own the console anymore. And they miss certain game releases which means for many people a collection/remaster is the first time they've thrown money at an IP. Plus, there is clear demand for these things so of course these businesses are going to do it.

I see no evidence that it is any kind of intensive drain on resources. If people weren't satisfied with remasters then they wouldn't buy them. Plus, many companies hire out third parties to remaster their games so it isn't like core teams are wasting time on current gen ports.
