Yup! I’d been looking at seven strings on and off for a while, and this one just spoke to me. Just the right kind of hideous.

I have the same soft spot for the orange 6 string hardtail RG from that line as well. I've not seen one at a price I'd pull the trigger on currently though. I think I'd need to sell two of my guitars to justify buying it new. :crylaugh:

    Hope you enjoy it!

Those orange ones are pretty too. Trust, I got this one used and still had to sell some stuff.
    Loving it, though!
Having setup plenty of six strings in B standard, finding that I really prefer having the full range of seven strings.

Spotted a Pigtronix booster on a massive January blow out sale (£50 instead of £115) and couldn't help myself. Never had a booster before, thought trying out a quality made one for that sort of price would be worth it. I now feel stupid for never having bought or built one previously...

Anyone have a 7 string they play drop f in? Thinking about picking up my first 7 string and the online discussion over string gauges is overwhelming and not answering my questions.

I just got one of these Fender Mustang Micro's so that I can play my electric again. It is a headphone amp but also allows you to record with the USB connection. You need garageband or some other software I think though. Tested it out today for the first time and was pretty impressed.

i got one of these for Christmas and immediately loved it. Much more convenient than an iRig. Got a pair of audio technica headphones to use and they definitely sounded better than my sennheisers that I use for most listening.

Got a pre-new guitar day thing going on here and some strange timing to it. Recently, I've not really been all that excited about anything on the market, but as many of you know, the GAS never really goes away. I've been hankering for something which I'd find interesting or cool, without it being a bank breaker. I've been considering selling my AM Tele to fund something if it was worth it, but aside of a bunch of Japanese LP and LPC types, nothing has really attracted me.

But anyway, I still like to browse Reverb and see what's second hand in the UK and I stumbled on something really weird on Thursday. The result is that I've bought a UK made guitar, by an almost entirely unknown company. Basically, it's a guitar which was made by a tiny builder in Cumbria (Solwayer), which I can find little info about. All I know is the spec of the guitar and that it's been boxed up for about 12 years. It was built and sent to Guitar Buyer magazine to be reviewed and then this guy I've bought it from ended up with it. The company used to sell these for £1800 list and it appears there are still two ex demo models available for £800 each. I've paid £250, because it looks like a proper ugly duckling, which could also be an absolute steal.

I've had the shipping notification, so hopefully it will be here in the next week. Current pros are that it has a pair of Bare Knuckle Nailbombs in it, Tone Pros bridge and a Hiscox case. So even if it turns out to be a pig, I guess I can recoup a lot of the cost and figure out what to do with the carcass. Current cons are that it's got no cache based on the brand (so it's worth next to nothing and likely never will be) and that I have no idea whether I'll actually like it.

Still, I'm quietly hoping this is going to be a really strange, offbeat riff machine. Wish me luck. :crylaugh:

I’d recommend trying out the tension calculator on StringJoy.
It was crucial for translating the feel of E standard with 11-52s on my Mustang to B standard with 15-70s.

Edit: Rang this up on StringJoy based on my current B standard 7 setup.

IMG_20220222_093907257.jpg Right, NGD! It's so hilariously ugly. I need to clean it up and set it up, but first thoughts are that the neck is fat, it's extremely light and those pickups are utterly savage. This is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

This isn't bad looking at all haha. It reminds me of a Toronado and Noodles' signature from Ibanez. Bonus points for having an appropriate case too.

Anyone in this thread use a Bare knuckle Black Dog before? I'm thinking of trying one out in my tele deluxe. Going for an aggressive PAF tone very similar to Bad Religion stuff.

Looks rad! Gives me old First Act ME501 vibes.
Having a symmetrical waist but an offset-esque butt is an interesting aesthetic.

I only say it's a bit of an ugly duckling because the bright red pickups (which are super hot) don't fit on what is an otherwise pretty calm looking instrument. I quite enjoy how oddball it is. I love the shape. It puts me in mind of a lot of the Reverend guitars (which also use Korina bodies) or the Schecter Tempest.

It's definitely got some peculiarities. The bridge is some sort of Tone Pros wraparound, but it's so near to the bridge pickup that you can't restring one string at a time, you have to take the whole bridge off and put all six in at once. The tiny little banjo keys are a strange choice on this too, but they feel pretty sturdy at least.

The neck is such a fatty though. It's like an SG that's been beefed up.

I haven't been able to play it really yet, it still needs some work setup wise.

The Jackson Dinky Minion just needs to be strung up and it’s finally ready to rip. Installed locking tuners, cleaned up the JUMBO(!) frets and freatboard, and put on a new bridge since the original was cracked. Should stay in tune better. I’ll eventually put some other pickups in it but these do the job for a miniature guitar lol.

i did exactly this with my first guitar, also a Jackson Dinky. I used like house paint and stuff tho. Long since donated to a charity program, unfortunately I don’t think I have any pictures of it

Think I’m gonna pull the trigger on a custom shop ‘65 strat body from Stratosphere and do my first partscaster build, very stoked.

Had this for a bit now. A dream guitar of mine and the first guitar I ever wanted that wasn’t a Tom DeLonge signature strat lol. Fender’s most versatile and comfortable guitars, IMO. The belly cut makes a world of difference and the wide range pickups are super underrated.

Pretty stoked. I got a couple new builds happening and I just ordered a custom Bare Knuckle Juggernaut and a custom Bare Knuckle Black Dog set. I've been wanting some Black Dogs for a long time. BK never disappoints and the custom options are great. Take. My. Money.

Juggernaut is going in a snow cone flake tom delonge style strat.

Black Dogs will be going in a black/silver burst telecaster deluxe.
