Jami talked about the new single and the direction of the band on the Lead Singer Syndrome Podcast weeks back, I think. The song is good too, it’s exactly what they want to be.

 

Yes, in recent interviews he has said specifically that the song was just something they wanted to do and has no bearing on the direction of the next album.

not so much lol

 

this is what I think sets this band apart from its peers. Any metalcore/hardcore band can be heavy and chaotic, but few carry that unhinged eerie aura (i.e. early Converge, Deadguy) and I think Vein does it extremely well

They review a lot of great stuff. Both write for Metal Hammer as well and there should be a formal write up in the upcoming issue.

Listening to the podcast now, beyond hyped. The next few days of waiting might kill me.

 

I wish this was longer. The middle section feels like it blows by.

 

Story going around that they destroyed a venue last night in New Mexico and when confronted became hostile then them and another band jumped some of the people that confronted them and some members pulled out a gun

 

Wait what the fuck?

 

I’m honestly not that surprised that something like this happened. When I saw them a couple years ago, there was apparently some sort of knife fight threat after the show in the parking lot and I think some of Vein were involved? Not totally sure cuz I had already left. But still… that really sucks to hear. I hope they apologize and buy the venue all new equipment. Bad timing to do this shit too since their album is out tonight. Ugh.

 

The other band involved is called Momentum. No clue which members had guns or anything like that from what I can find

 

damn that's super fucked up. it's annoying how pervasive the meathead lifestyle is in that scene
