Hasn’t he been out of the band since like 2010?

I'm pretty creeped out by that person admitting they hacked his accounts and read all his messages????

Upon further investigation it appears you are right. Although it seems like this behavior has continued since him leaving in the band and using his status as a former member of TFB to be creepy towards minors.

Yeah that is definitely creepy and I only shared for the part about receiving nudes, but the hacking part is definitely...weird.

I live in Florida. Our state government doesn't even acknowledge the pandemic, let along vaccine cards. I remember the first time I traveled out of state during Covid and my iPhone asked me if I wanted to enable exposure alerts. It was like suddenly finding out the rest of the world has 6G already.

Isn't Chris Brown's fan base a majority of black women?

Not going to re-think it...why does an act who has a history of violence against a certain portion of the population, have that portion of the population as the majority of their fans? If his fans aren't upset about him being a serial abuser, then why should non-fans care?

Dude is a piece of shit.

No one is defending him or denying that he is a piece of shit.

Trying to "blame" an already marginalized group for an abuser's popularity doesn't actually contribute to or help the conversation. Especially when the discussion is over a month old. Your comments just come across as condescending at minimum and bigoted at maximum.

it’s just funny seeing the dudes name brought up in this thread every few months, and the typical response being “how is this guy still around?”…well, he moves tons of streams/merch/tickets to his fans. Maybe ask his fans why they still tolerate his misogynistic and abusive behavior.

it’s the same question I’d ask to someone still out there supporting Marilyn Manson, Bill Cosby, or Jared Leto.

I think you can ask that question without bringing race into it. The way you phrased that question and the way you have talked about race in the past in here is weird and is leaving a bad taste in folks mouths.

But this time you were the one who brought him up? No one was even talking about him when you quoted that post. So that argument doesn't really hold any ground.

and just like Andrew said, you brought race into the conversation when it's entirely irrelevant and that's the issue. Blaming black women for an abuser's success is just a bad look no matter how you frame it

I don’t think it’s that simple. Someone like Jared Leto isn’t still around because of the fans, he has fans still because he keeps getting roles.

Chris Brown still has fans because the industry has largely accepted him. He would not still have hits today if it weren’t for that.

  23. Blaming fans for an artist's continued presence feels similarly pointless to blaming consumers for corporate waste. Corporations and the music industry at large aren't helpless babies held hostage to market demand. These power players and decision making entities could choose to do better regardless of fan activity, and do not do so because god forbid "lost profits" comes into play.

And blaming Black women for Chris Brown's actions is misogynoir plain and simple.
