Wasn’t Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing supposed to lower ticket prices in shows that had lots of inventory? Has anyone actually seen this happen?

Tool is playing a show here this weekend and like 80% of the upper deck is unsold but prices are still like $98 after tax.

Some resellers are just greedy. Saw Still Woozy last week. I paid $36 total face value a few days before the show. It sold out day before and people were selling the same ticket for $150.

A lot of casual concert goers I talk to think Stubhub/ Seatgeek are where you go to buy tickets. For shows that aren't sold out, people will buy resale prices not knowing that they're over paying.

I have seen it. Wait for the day of and it will probably drop.

I haven't seen face value prices drop, but for most amphitheater/arena shows any "platinum" seats will usually drop to regular face value on the day of. It's a good way to get much better seats/pit access without over-spending if you're patient and lucky enough.

This is happening for the Swedish House Mafia tour lol
Probably one of the few ocassions it will happen

Speaking of absurd prices, The Lumineers are charging around $125 (before fees) for like the BACK of the amphitheater.

Are those Platinum tickets? I paid $120 for field tickets for their Chicago stadium show

I know the reverse happened when I got MGK tix for $50 on the presale, then my friends got the same tickets for $200 on the onsale.

I think the only time I saw ticket prices go down from the starting price was when Banks tickets started at $70 for the first couple weeks on sale then went down to $30.

Thats ridiculous especially since meet and greets are 100 dollars cheaper on a headliner

Maybe I'm just used to being able to smoke weed behind the shitty dives with some of the bands I've seen but $240 seems like a lot to meet someone who's not John Cena or Dale Earnhardt.

Why would you pay that much for John Cena when you can't even see him?

I know there was a little discussion but it looks like State Champs/Neck Deep took the same route Simple Plan/Sum 41 did with a collab song before their tour gets announced

I think bands charging a lot for meet & greets is stupid. At least, band's charging $200+ is stupid.

If you're playing an arena or amphitheater or stadium then yeah it's gonna be difficult to do any sort of meet & greet that isn't official/pre-planned, but there are plenty of musicians bigger than DGD or at their level who meet fans for free after shows or do way cheaper meet & greets. So them charging that much is just insane.

i wonder if it’s a COVID thing. Like if they charge a lot, it will weed out people paying for it so less exposure?

That was the best I could do as far as benefit of the doubt. Other than that, yeah, fuck paying that music for a meet and greet

Outrageous ticket prices for that entire Coheed tour, but make your money guys – pandemic and all.

Really? My date cost $38 for GA, what's it like at your date?

  21. cricketandclover

    Things have changed.

I looked at one random date and the pit was $115 and seats were $85. Just looked at another and pit and front seats were $80.

Nothing is as bad as the $1000 VIP for 3EB for side stage viewing on their tour with TBS. That’s insane lol

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Man, I remember paying ~$50 for that Coheed/Glassjaw/I The Mighty/Silver Snakes tour thinking that was a little steep. I don’t think I'd put $80 for Coheed…
