There are a lot of rich folks in their 50's and 60's who will.

    Things have changed.

I mean, he's literally a living legend and one of the most influential pop culture figures of the last 65 years. That's not hyperbole.

i mean tickets to see even portrayal of guilt and END are 25 bucks. Like 5 years ago that’s a 18 dollar show MAX

At his age he still plays for over 2 hours with setlist of almost 40 songs. I wish younger bands do the same instead of playing a 15 song set for an hour.

Your comment makes it sound like it's laughable to spend money on a McCartney show, which is a weird thing to say lol. He's a living legend, probably the biggest and most successful living artist. And at his age, it wouldn't be shocking if he retires from touring after this.
    He's a freaking Beatle for god's sake!

it’s pretty easy to see why someone would spend a large sum to see a Beatle, even if i never would

To be clear I would never spend that kind of money on any show. Even an Oasis reunion I would cap myself at like $500 haha

Speaking of absurd ticket prices... $240 for a Dance Gavin Dance M&G is ridiculous, right?

re: ticket prices, I've noticed they've gotten pricier on whole since concerts "came back," so to speak.

For example, with Eddie Vedder's Earthlings tour, the *cheapest* face value ticket on Ticketmaster (not Premium or Resale) was $129. I saw Pearl Jam like 7 years ago for about $60, so this just does not make any sense to me.

Yesterday I got an advertising in the mail from Xfinity, saying I could get a good deal on Internet + TV (right now I only get internet from them and TV through Sling which is way cheaper).

I went to the website that was listed and the deal was $50 for TV and internet package. At the bottom it said there is a $19.99 charge for broadcasting fee and a $17.93 fee for sports broadcasting. Overall, before taxes and other stupid fees, $50 becomes almost $90.

What I am trying to say is that maybe Live Nation are horrible with their fees but they are a symptom of a problematic system and the focus should be changing the way that system works.

You ever book an Air BnB? Always feels like the total cost is double what is initially shown after taxes and fees.

i would cash out my 401k for oasis

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

I’d fly to the UK and pay a few hundred for Oasis

The majority of people do not go to concerts anywhere as much as we do. Someone who pays $500+ for one ticket still probably spends way less than a lot of us do on concerts total, which is why it’s reasonable for them.

(And if you are the kind of person who only goes to shows that cost $10 and this doesn’t apply to you, you don’t need to tell me)

100%. I think the Underoath VIP package for their tour was around $100 and it included a ticket lmao.

That’s more than what Coheed is charging for their meet and greet on the same tour lmao

I go to 40-50 shows a year and def spend WAY more on concerts than the "rich Boomers" who go to 2 shows a year & drop $1,000 to see Paul McCartney & Elton John

I've got a pact with my cousin that if they ever reunite (feels doubtful) we're flying to Manchester and catching all the UK shows.

  21. See above comment. I’m mostly shitposting, sorry lol

  22. Whenever the inevitable last E Street band tour happens I will be taking out a second mortgage on my house to go see like 15 shows so I’m not tryna act like I’m above this phenomenon either haha. Just would never for Sir Paul

Back in my day $240 would buy you tickets to 15 DGD shows and you could meet them at every stop

The price increase for club/theater shows in the past few years has been insane. Take Webster Hall in NYC for instance, most shows would be faced at $20/25 back in 2016. Now it's $35/40.

Shows are much pricier currently I think due to the insurance for these tours
