I do find it hilarious that we are still doing meetings via Teams even when we are in the office since one of the guys on our team is in our corporate office and not in our facility.

Personally despise working from home, but I realize I'm in the minority.

I have more laundry now than when I would go into the office. I biked to work so on Monday I would bring a pair of jeans with me and I would just leave those there to wear all week and bring different shirts, etc. with me the other days. Now I wear different shorts or sweatpants most days.

  7. Working from home is the best. You get so much of your time back since there is no commute. You can do random chores during the day. Or take a break and exercise. You can still go out to lunch with someone from work or a friend or whatever. I also don't feel obligated to be at a computer for the entire work day. Sometimes I have personal shit to do and since I work from home, I just do it. If I was in the office and had to get something personal done, I feel obligated to tell my boss or coworkers why im leaving.

The best thing about WFH is taking a nap during my lunch break

  10. My biggest anxiety about WFH is that I worry that I'm spoiled.

My circumstances are such that I should probably be hopping employers for compensation bumps a couple times in the next 5ish years, but I'm genuinely paralyzed by the fear of switching to one of the Big 5 and realizing that corporate pay means a corporate workload that vaporizes the freedom I feel I have in my current situation.

This seems just weird all around.

Edit: Shit got beat to the post.

I guess I'm lucky enough where I can do this now. Like, my boss doesn't give a shit what time I show up for work or what time I leave - or if I leave during the day for stuff. So long as my work gets done, or I attend important meetings, it's never an issue. I do personal errands all the time during the day. I leave to pick up my daughter from preschool quite often. I go to the gym on my lunch breaks. I stop at the grocery store. Honestly, working at the office is almost a vacation for me compared to working at home :crylaugh:

  16. There's more of a sense of obligation when you are in the office regardless of freedom. At least in my opinion. Some mental block that does not exist when you are at home

The trade off of having so many days off throughout the year is i doubt I’ll ever benefit from working from home (sans another bad pandemic) not a 4 day work week.

For me, there is just no way I go into Newark every day. Maybe if I'm going to a hockey game lol. I am going to abuse my parking privileges for Dua Lipa next week.

I don’t mind working in the office but certainly working from home was nice since my commute is about an hour. My job has a flex reporting program though where I can work from home under certain circumstances. Like yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment in the morning so I was able to work from home afterward.

Being in the office is easier obviously if you need to communicate with coworkers, and I just feel I am more productive in the office with less distractions.

My job is hopeful they will get a permanent hybrid WFH policy this year which would be great since I want to start looking for an apartment soon and can have a much wider range of where to look if I don’t have to drive to the office everyday.
