Am I the only one burnt out by working from home and missing social interactions to break up the day a bit?

 

Why do you think we all post here so much?

I don't mind just the quasi-social interactions over Slack, Teams, etc., and then I go pick up my kids from school in the afternoon so I get some social interaction with other adults, not to mention sun and air and a bit of a refresher, before finishing out the last hour or 2 of the work day.

Yeah, that makes sense. I think that routine of going out daily is what I need. I've become kind of a shut-in since the pandemic and it hasn't been great on my mental health

 

As a horrendous small talker who has trouble concealing my discomfort with people sometimes, I don't miss the office environments I'm accustomed to. But I've definitely needed to cultivate social alternatives during the workday, including coming back to these forums after a few years. Podcasts and my dog can only carry me so far haha.

 

Oh yeah, I now put immense value on both the fresh air I get on my morning walk and the feeling of showering/dressing for appearances and not just hygiene. Like immense value.

Without staying on top of them, I regress quick.
