I do get to see Mitski next week which is awesome. Weird we get Mitski and not Bon Iver but oh well

BI,BI feels similar to me, but it's definitely not a weakness.

I felt like Perth, Minnesota WI and Beth/Rest were clear and unique standouts. But you're not wrong

I didn't like the "immediateness" or whatever its called of the self titled. I don't like accessible bon iver I guess.

Self titled is less accessible than Emma imo

I don't like Emma, so I disagree with that statement

Whether or not you *like* something doesn't have much bearing on its accessibility to the masses tho

Bon Iver is maybe the least same-y artist I've ever heard. Obviously people hear things differently, but I think Justin makes the most sonically disparate music ever.

It's true, For Emma sounds not a lot like Bon Iver, Bon Iver which sounds moreso but not really the same as 22, A Million

I would not call Bi, BI an "accessable" album. It took me a year to love it.

I'm gonna have to agree with Steve on this one, I think the self titled is more accessible to the general public. I just think most people would find the acoustic/folkiness of the first album too...boring? Like it wouldn't catch their attention as much.

Idk I feel the opposite. I think the whole somber/folk aesthetic appeals to a lot of people who wouldn't like him if they heard the S/T first. Like
I know some of the songs may have been chosen, and or played on radio from BI, BI. Though I personally could not see Perth, Towers, Wash, Beth/Rest being played on a local alt station. Where's Skinny Love or re Stacks I could.

I was wrong on one thing for sure: "666" is a standout. Great tune.

I only listened to it once and then deleted it. I have nice headphones and want to listen to an HQ recording on those. I feel like anything short of that would be not giving the album the credit it deserves.

Kind of bummed that the horn solo was missing. Incredible nonetheless. Love Fallons reaction.

fallon was really gushing over him at the beginning of the show. spent a good 3 minutes or so talking about how he's a genius, how much he loves his music, etc.
