i feel like long term trends are what matters. last week was a high week. past week was a low week. so it looks like a big drop but unless a pattern starts to emerge I wouldn't worry

NWA was enjoyable but lost most of their momentum during the early pandemic. Empower is cool tho

Someone that said they only watched the opening of Dynamite this week to see if they deleted Cody from the intro video. And when they noticed they did, decided they’re going to take a hiatus from watching wrestling because “Cody and Brandi were the face of the revolution.”

Alvarez had a good theory today. Basically saying if Vince has ANY sense left, he will push Cody hard out the gate so that AEW people looking to jump ship to WWE will see what happened to Cody and have that help their decision.

Makes perfect sense, but that doesn't matter when it comes to Vince. It's going to be fascinating what they do with Cody, he HAS to be in a big match at Mania, right?

    No Fun. Not Ever.

If they were smart, then they would. But this is WWE so you literally never fucking know.

Wasn’t Cody’s last Mania match in Dallas and now he gets to return to Mania in Dallas. It rhymes. Or something

Yep, his last real televised match was that WM match. He was in a US title #1 contenders battle royale it looks like as his last TV match.

But more fun, his last WWE match was in Greensboro, on Superstars, against Zach Ryder.

Which, Im not sure which is more impressive...that Cody is going back after finishing so laughably low on the card...or that Zach Ryder was working Superstars less than 2 months after winning the IC title at WM32

apparently there was a company option on cody's deal that tony didn't pick up

  21. Interesting WON notes

    • Some WWE talent believes AEW may have a budgeting issue that won’t be resolved until/unless they sign a bigger TV deal in 2024. Despite good numbers, there’s no guarantee of a more lucrative deal for AEW given how much Turner will be spending in sports rights. There is an unnamed WWE talent who regularly appears on TV (not Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn) who saw “what AEW had [to offer]” and believes they cannot sign/match WWE’s highest offers right now. Dave didn’t clarify whether this person was expiring / re-signed, but it reads that way.

    • WWE signing Cody could be big for their perception issue given wrestlers are mostly moving in the other direction. Dave speculated Cody joining WWE and being both pushed and used well could signal to many in AEW that WWE is a legitimate option for them other than just for the money.

I feel like AEW giving them freedom for side hustles can be worth more than anything WWE can offer.

I just don’t see Cody doing anything in WWE. Either you’re losing to Roman, getting ready to lose to Roman, or doing nothing

Probably the same one that the Young Bucks had, but if TK didn't think Cody was happy, there's no point triggering it and forcing him to stay.
