Took a very short vacation this week. Ended up hospitalized. They put me on a transplant floor and couldn’t have visitors because some asshole visitor brought Covid in 3 weeks ago and got a few transplant patients sick.

My husband went back to IL today (I’m in WI alone now) and won’t be released until he can safely come back because we’re gonna get another snow storm at home

 

I feel like this is that scene from "Super Troopers" where the kids are told to pull over and they say can't pull over any farther.

 

Gotta love how we moved from "follow the science" to "people really need a break from wearing masks so, although the science says that masks prevent transmission and save lives, we're just going to say that you don't need to wear them." I mean, really, what the hell is this? The CDC issues medical guidance that can either be enforced or ignored by policy makers. It's not the CDC's job to change guidance based on public opinion (which is still mostly favorable to masks!). If politicians feel like the public is sick of masks, they can just ignore the guidelines, which they're already doing anyway.

This is an open admission that they are solely changing the guidelines so that politicians can get rid of all prevention measures while still claiming to "listen to the science"

 

While we’re at it, the CDC says you can occasionally leave the condom off during casual sex hookups

 

They're trying to shift responsibility for killing people away from cops/gun owners and making it just a thing that happens and we have to live with it, there's nothing we can do. Standard propaganda.

My wife (vaxxed and boosted) just tested positive for Covid after 2 of our kids (also vaxxed) just got over it. So far I am testing negative (also vaxxed and boosted) and so is our unvaxxed youngest son

Got PCR's for the 3 of us tomorrow.

 

it is, thankfully nothing with my kidney, they just put me up here as a precaution. I just want to be at home now.

it’s just so frustrating that the no visitor rule for this floor went into effect like 3 weeks ago or something. And I get it, people can be asymptomatic but I wish they could have just tested my husband so he could be here
