I've never really had red velvet that taste like anything but the frosting. I think she's right.

But you get that with carrot cake which is better

 

Most cake is bad but carrot cake is easily the worst.

 

I'd go to bat for carrot cake before I would for red velvet. You still get the cream cheese frosting, but with a superior cake.

 

Not really, it has cocoa powder, but very little compared to chocolate cake which usually also has actual chocolate, coffee, or some other ingredient like Coke to make for a richer chocolate flavor. In red velvet the cocoa is added mostly to improve the texture, hence the velvet, and is combined with an acid which causes a chemical reaction and creates the red color.

 

As a lover of “Pig,” I feel like they missed the significance of the final dinner and how it was calling back to the one meal the kid remembered that made his mom and dad happy. Maybe I misunderstood them kind of waving the meaning of that off.
