Yeah I think they picked the right version for the record even though the heavy version ruled live.

 

The Tucson version is really cool. “Light Is As Is” is a nice song, but I think they made the right decision leaving it off.

 

"Light Is As Is" rules, I will probably never listen to this version of Dragon again, but it's fine

 

Would be sweet if they put the heavy version (apparently recorded during the Shawn Everett sessions) on the next LP

 

not gonna lie I need a Shawn Everett produced full LP from these guys literally ASAP. album's great but every song he recorded is just absolutely top shelf

Can someone post the heavy version? I stayed away from live versions of stuff, knowing they always play unreleased stuff and not wanting to get attached

 

I like it but get why it was cut for the softer versions. Love to see them play heavier but that song really feels more at home when you can get lost in it.

That said, release it somewhere, the bonus track versions is really interesting too.

I wouldn't have been mad if they had three versions of it on the record, why not.

"Blue Lightning" is such a perfect closer

Its playfulness makes me think of The Velvet Underground closing with "After Hours"

 

it also kind of has a lyrical connection to Change, or maybe I am reaching. “would you live forever, never die?” and “I wanna live forever till I die”
