bought the cd today and finally giving this a dedicated listen after listening to nothing but big thief this week

This is like the 8th or 9th best Spoon record and I really like it.

Lucifer on the Sofa is good. It is not better than any other Spoon record. Let’s be real here. It’s a good, solid Spoon record.

Here’s a secret: I find most tracks on Kill the Moonlight to be annoying. I’ve tried so many times.

 

Transference is a perfect album.

I don't know where this would fall but I would not put it above TWMS. I think theres a drop from those 5 to the others, albeit not a massive drop.

 

All I’ll say is that I think “The Devil & Mister Jones” is maybe the worst Spoon song ever. Thankfully “Wild” and “My Babe” come back to back right after.

I think “Feels Alright” is a total throwaway as well.

I'm with Craig on this being my favorite from them since Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.

Gimme Fiction & Ga x5 are my favorites, with Kill The Moonlight right behind. Girls Can Tell & Transference would be next tier for me. I honestly didn't like They Want My Soul or Hot Thoughts very much at all, and I don't think I've ever listened to the first two albums.

I love this entire album, but I find myself grinning like an idiot during the one-two punch of "Wild" & "My Babe".
