although my alma mater hasn’t had a baseball team since 1991, they do have a softball team

my alma mater is notre dame and while they were quite good at baseball last year actually, I don't really feel great about supporting them as an institution for a variety of reasons lol

 

uw-madison not having a baseball team was almost dispositive but I really truly did not want to go to uiuc

 

UW doesn't have a baseball team?? I mean I know there's snow on the ground like half the year up there haha but that's shocking to me

Question, let’s say there’s no season this year would someone like Aaron Judge be a FA this winter or does it delay his free agency because he didn’t play out the last year of his contract?

 

I feel like this came up when the season was in question cause of COVID and I don't think it mattered if they didn't play that year, not positive since this is probably a different circumstance

 

I think guys would still be on the same timeline but if we really miss the whole season whenever there is finally a new CBA I’d imagine it would explicitly deal with that issue

 

I don’t think we miss the whole season though. There will be baseball played by May and they’ll get 130+ games in

 

Yeah I truly don’t remember what would happen. I would think it wouldn’t matter and the player would be a FA like he normally would.

 

But yeah they can't afford to lose the season. No way that happens completely
