Was actually just spinning Tunnel of Love last night. I swear to god I love that album exponentially more for every year I get older.

    Follow your passion.

Bruce is truly an amazing musician to watch. I also had the opportunity to have the chance to meet him, as well and say hi to him. He had came into my old job where I was working at and I was going out for lunch/breakfast at 10am, my schedule was from 7am-3pm and he was coming into the lobby. *In case you wondering why I had an early break.

It's probably my favourite album of his. I'll die on this hill!

Tunnel of Love was not one I really gave much attention to growing up, but then a grocery store I worked at in college included several Tunnel of Love tracks in its regular rotation and it quickly became one of my favorites.

The Tougher Than the Rest video is a gem as well - you can just kind of tell him and Patti had a genuine thing going:

  6. I actually think Tunnel of Love is fairly properly rated these days. I don't think it was as well received as the several records before it when it came out but I don't think many "true heads" if you will look down their nose at it much anymore haha

Yeah I agree that it's one of those ones that so many people have been saying for so many years is "the underrated one" that it gets dangerously close to tipping over. A great great A+ album but still his like...7th or 8th best

Diehards properly rating something isn’t the same as the general consensus assessing it properly

Tunnel of Love has been underrated since I first got into Bruce and still is, imo.

  12. And I guess the general music listening public probably doesn't think about tunnel at all so I may be wrong

98% of artists to ever enter a studio would have Tunnel as their best by miles. The fact that it’s probably 4th for him is the true testament to his greatness

We can all agree Human Touch is pretty bad though right (outside of the title track)? When revisiting the discography I always jump in thinking "maybe this is the time I find out Human Touch was misunderstood and isn't that bad"....and nope, still pretty bad. Lucky Town however, is bottom tier Bruce, but still a pretty good album.

  17. I have come to really enjoy Human Touch. Title track, Soul Driver, Gloria’s Eyes and Roll of the Dice are all great tracks in my mind. Some clunkers for sure but I don’t think it’s as bad as it’s reputation.

Human Touch isn’t BAD. But it’s properly rated near the bottom for him.

It's his worst album, IMO. Not bad, but definitely the one I reach for the least often. "Human Touch," the song, is fucking great, though.

I’ve walked around for five years thinking it’s odd that when I asked Brian Fallon what his favorite Bruce record was he said ‘The first one’.

But after reading some takes in this thread, that’s officially not odd at all. lol

Yeah I wouldn't find that odd at all. I fluctuate between Greetings and Born to Run as my favorite.

  22. It’s really so hard to pick a favorite for me. I’d probably say Darkness but Born to Run, The River, Western Stars and Born in the USA are all very close.

I just feel so fortunate to be able to listen to Bruce grow and change over the years from Greetings to Letters - it’s so incredible to spend a few days running through his discography.

I feel like if you really listen to Fallon’s music, it’s pretty clear that those first two albums are big for him.

    oh, totally.

but in a discography that has Darkness, BTR, or even The River, it’s nuts TO ME.

It’s like saying Red Album is your favorite Weezer record. lol

I know everyone hates Working on a Dream but every few months I get REALLY into a different song from it. Right now I’m on a “Life Itself” kick
