  2. There is no longer a political cost to saying this. That's what 2016 has brought us.

    Just saw it.

However proto-masculine it may be, there are few things that can annoy me more than guys like that: clearly out of shape and throwing very weak punches knowing there's a thousand people who have his back. The civilized modern man in me wants to laugh, but the former boxer with a small man's complex in me wants to sock that dude.

I'm glad you were finally able to get the video to work! I watched it a few times and seeing the people in the crowd cheering on the violence and attempting to engage in it further is sickening. I don't blame you one bit for wanting to sock that guy.

    OMG Pence deflecting soooooooo hard.

And also acting like it was the worst thing every said by a politician. Keeps harping on it being a "prepared speech", because he knows the guy he's running with says awful things about the American people constantly, but since it's "Off the cuff", it's okay.

Clinton's team better have her ready with a "basket" of quotes from people supporting Trump that show their racism, sexism, xenophobia, etc. Don't censor it (unless it's an n word), don't sugar coat it, just read off a bunch of quotes from those people and David Duke, and then say "Yeah, I'd say those people and their views are pretty deplorable. Or horrible. Whatever adjective you want to use."

If she wants to go further, quote the slate stats that show her comment calling half of them deplorable only applies to 13% of the American electorate, but the people might not buy into that.

Clinton should have said they're pieces of shit. Fuck apologies.

Haha i was talking about the first debate, she probably can't call them pieces of shit there, but yeah, seeing that at a fundraiser probably would have been great.

Also extremely damaging to her campaign, but shit. She really ain't wrong.

Seriously it would be a home run hit if Clinton just came out at the first debate with a bunch of quotes from David Duke, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, etc whoever else and says "Yeah, i'd say those views are deplorable. Aren't you supposed to be hiring the best people?"

I guess she has to triangulate so as to not alienate voters. At least, that is the common sense that pervades the establishment. But, this isn't a normal election, so this middle of the road, conciliatory tone just will not fly.
