    No Fun. Not Ever.

This makes me think it's Jeff. But it's Matt so who the fuck knows.

If its Hardy or Ali, they're both calling bluff on the 90-day compete. Jeff isnt eligible til I wanna say the Dynamite after Revolution (he was fired Dec 9).

The language fits Keith Lee, both in being literally about his previous company closing doors and it being overly wordy like his post-WWE firing tweets. But I dont see that as "Forbidden Door" stuff

edit: God I hope its Cody re-signing with AEW

using Dark matches to prop up W/L records feels a bit bullshit. From a more casual perspective, it feels like he showed up one won match and got a title shot. If you can easily just feed a bunch of squash matches on dark to manipulate your W/L total to be whatever you want it to be... it still doesn't really feel like W/L records actually matter. I'd honestly rather they just be like "yeah its wrestling. we're gonna book what we think will tell a good story. sometimes that'll mean someone showing up and getting a title shot." than going through the whole song and dance

Oh my god, if it's Cody I will buy one of his t-shirts. That would be amazing.

Ali hasn't even been released yet, right? So it wouldn't be 90 day compete thing for him it would be him legitimately blowing off his whole contract which... yeah. it would be amazing to see and AEW fight for him but honestly probably doesn't end well

I agree 100%. But also, AEW does genuinely care about those matches. They built up like 15+ matches for Tay Conti on Dark to make her the right person to challenge Britt. There's a bunch of other similar situations. Though usually its not like Archer, they also use that time to further refine a character and nail down some specifics.

Ali would be legitimately game changing. Like, Kevin Owens could show up in AEW any day kind of game changing. Why would anyone re-sign WWE TV deals when they could buy AEW game-changing.

Jeff Hardy would be a blurry line, but, also he might have a not so clear 90-day or because of the drug stuff, could very reasonably claim he was fired-fired rather than released.

Cody just came to me because they spent way too much time hinting he's a free agent and there's no heelier move than showing up in a "faces of the revolution" match, claiming forbidden door, and beating a talented young wrestler to advance.

But honestly, I'd put real money its Keith Lee

Ali would be perfect in AEW, btw. And I'd love him to be the face of the revolution in the way that move would mean.

Problem for AEW is it'd also mean they're opening their own contracts for WWE poaching, and WWE could very reasonably pay out their own ass for an MJF v whoever WM match. And so on.

don't feel like lee or hardy fit a forbidden door narrative in any real way

Jeff Hardy fits the "slamming the door" thing. But not much beyond that.

This x1000. Honestly, he's perfect for a few stables there (he'd make an amazing Best Friend).

But also, its Keith lee. Its right in line with the hilariously wordy shit he posted after he got released and I just cant imagine who else they're gonna drop into the TNT title contender match who's gonna make the same splash. And, more importantly, who's gonna live up to the hype of what they're pushing. Keith Lee can deliver...and the only other person on that level whose 90-day is up is Killer Kross, who's a real weird choice when you're also pushing Lance Archer.

With the level that they're hyping it, it feels like it could really only be a few guys. Realistic options I would say are Hardy, Lee and Ali. Huge longshots being any of the top 4/5 guys in New Japan. Jeff would really be the only disappointing option of those for me. I'd be fine with him coming in, just wouldn't justify that level of hype (for me, personally, I know most wrestling fans would disagree.)

it's kinda Tony's job to over hype things.

Ali fits, but I the legal implicates really make it feel more of a pipe dream than anything else.

So its probably Jeff. But also could just be some impact guy.

Calling the bluff for Ali is fun but would also potentially open a whole ton of issues for AEW considering AEWs talent are also independent contractors
