OTIP made me fall in love with the Menzingers. ATP was the nail in the coffin this is my favorite active band today.

    I say active because ... Gaslight :(

I was sold on the band when I saw them open for Broadway Calls in 2009. Chamberlain Waits is probably my second fave behind OTIP, but ATP is definitely not far behind and the album that may be looked as the band at their best. I still think the highs from RW are among their best as well and I loved that they got a little weird on that album, which wasn’t what I expected as a follow up to OTIP. For me, CW-ATP is the best four album stretch for any band in the scene along with Gaslight with Sink Or Swim-Handwritten.

Even though they different, it feels like Gaslight and The Menzingers have a lot in common.

ATP for me, but OTIP fantastic too. The other three all pretty close together after that, then the first record

Definitely. I think it’s most off all the imagery and story telling aspects of their songwriting and lyrics.

    Punk rock Bruce Springsteen’s.

OTIP is still my favourite, but it only narrowly beats ATP. I feel like OTIP is a record for when I feel a little more reflective, and ATP for the happier moments.

The closer and closer I get to 30, mixed with almost four years spent with this album, I am close to saying this is up there in my top 3 as favorite album of all time.

This album came out a couple of weeks after I turned 30, so you better believe that the line "Where are we gonna go now that our 20s are over?" hit me like a ton of bricks the first time I heard it.

I turned 30 in November 2020, eight months into the pandemic and more or less in quarantine during a surge that was hitting my hometown pretty hard. That wasn't very momentous!

Y'all, I was not ready for the nostalgia bomb the most recent listen of OTIP gave me. Discovered the record in 2015 and was flabbergasted I had not heard it until then. I think that was the last truly care free, youthful, "endless" summer I've had in my life. Man, good times, great soundtrack.

The show is Harrisburg on Saturday is a one-off (postponed twice, no shows I think until the spring tour?) and OTIP turns 10 in a couple weeks...
    Surprise album play?
