I was trying to describe myself to someone

F1 Twitter continues to rage away like it's still the morning after. I didn't realise that Lewis simply not saying anything would cause so much aggro.

Not going into details for obvious reasons but the company i work for today announced a major deal with a hugely polluting oil company with dodgy ties.

i wasn’t under any illusions as to the environmental policy of F1 but it’s still disappointing.

Aramco? As in you work for Aston Martin?

Yeah Aramco must have paid a fuck-ton of money to Aston Martin to not only be a sponsor, but be a part of the official name as well

Sprint races are obviously not great judging from 2/3 last year, but i think this is a better system.

I had a mini heart attack thinking those points were for the full races.

Having proper points for Saturday sprints makes way more sense than what they did last year. Same with the pole stat. Think that's a good improvement.

I'm not totally sold on the tracks they've picked though. Imola in particular has been pretty interesting because of incidents, but I don't remember the racing itself being much good because it's quite narrow. Austria could be interesting though.

Yeah i think Austria, Baku and Brazil would be my picks but I don’t mind them trying something at Imola because it’s just such a good track.

Also the new four tiered points system to stop things like Spa last year happening is welcome.

I'm getting properly excited now. The car concepts are really showing some variances and now I want to know how well they go.

Eduardo Freitas is replacing Masi; he's been the guy used for the World Endurance Championship, and he's been fantastic there, so it's a great pickup for F1

Excited for use of a VAR-style system as well, assuming it doesn't take too much time to use in the moment

I think the popularity of F1 is skyrocketing so much, that from a marketing standpoint more and more big brands and investors are wanting to get involved, which is why now Andretti "has the resources"

Do you think he'll actually come in as a new team or do you think this is how Haas makes their escape?

Personally, I think Haas stays in, as Ferrari's recent escalated involvement should (theoretically) help them improve their fortunes. And as his Haas automation company keeps seeing positive financial returns from being involved, I don't see a reason why he'd stop. So for now I see Andretti coming in as a new team

Looks like everyone has run pretty smoothly this morning, aside of Haas and Alfa.

Day two and Haas are looking in far better shape. They've managed 50 laps in the morning alone and are on pace with the other cars (not that we really know if that means anything currently).

Worryingly, Alfa are having another bad day of it. Only 12 laps and most of the morning spent in the garage. Needn't have bothered with that camo finish, nobody is going to see that car at this rate.

I do wonder what affect the sanctions on Russia will have on Haas.
