Like you said, calling someone racist has become worse than being racist. This country is fucked. The obsession with being "anti-pc" has normalized so many hateful attitudes and behaviors. Well, normalized to an even higher degree. Shits ridiculous and infuriating

I just had a friend try to tell me "CNN has literally never reported negatively on Hillary before", and that "CNN receives millions in off-the-book donations from the Clinton Foundation", lol. When I pressed him and said that I've seen them cover her scandals many times, he said "They've never touched the emails, Clinton Foundation, etc."...

I'm not gonna defend CNN because they're trash, but this level of disassociation with reality legitimately scares me. A quick Google search would prove that person to be irrefutably incorrect, and yet they don't do it. The world of information at our fingertips, and otherwise bright people actually CHOOSE to be ignorant and misinformed. To be fair, the same person also believes that the "anti-white movement" is a thing that actually exists, so take that as you will...

God that's a bad headline. Literally puts in quotes something that wasn't said and implies their definition was that they had a candian on stage ... which is completely false. I hate what "journalism" has become.

I guess I'm okay with black people not being at the launch of the iPhone 7. But also, while I agree with diversity, I think most companies are engaging it in such a way as to have their corporate hierarchy reflect the racial hierarchy in civil society. These sort of limitations, I expect, are reflected in the limitations facing the technological field in general.

Glenn Greenwald was right. This is an outgrowth of the idea that objectivity is the point of news. It never has been and never will be. You get Trump the racist and, in turn, Hillary the corrupt, career politician. I do, however, think the Clintons have been crying fowl over media coverage to an such an extent that it actually makes the critique meaningless. It isn't as though she'll do anything about it.

I did about 45 minutes of phone banking tonight, was all the time I could spare at the time.

It was interesting. I definitely feel a lot better about myself for picking up and talking to these people when they call me, because the other calls they make definitely aren't as fun lol.

Had a few people mess with me, had a few others hang up. Overall a cool experience and I def plan on doing some more of that in the future with more time if I can.

Edit-John Lewis did a robocall for the candidate that went out while Iw as there, it was fun seeing the campaign staff all excited about it. Also, I'm ageist as fuck. Realized it when old people would answer the phone. I def have a hard time talking to the elderly because I get impatient. Which I shouldn't because I have a ton of experience speaking with children, which is even more frustrating lol, yet I don't let it bother me/annoy me.

I did it for Lisa Blunt Rochester's campaign, she's going for our one at large House seat in Congress. She's not going to win any socialist revolution awards around here but she's decent enough and super nice in person. And a friend of mine from high school is running her campaign so I figured it was a good opportunity to get some volunteer experience.

Yeah I'm not sure how anyone out of state would do it for her, but if you mean your local candidates your best bet is to find their Facebook and like it and check for event postings. I'm lucky enough to know the girl running her campaign so that's how I found out where to go haha
