Day At the Fair reunited for the last (I think?) Bamboozle. Get them again and I'm there.

 

My brain immediately went to Something Corporate and Midtown as well. But it all kinda depends on how they define "reunion" because SoCo already did that one run... And Midtown "reunited" for the last Bamboozle.

 

fun. would be cool! Although not sure if Jack Antonoff would do it now that he is busy with Bleachers and as a producer.

This reminds me, are The Format reunion shows still happening?

 

He's got a year and a half to put it on his schedule!

As every year passes, Brian's comments make me feel like thats never happening. At least not for new music. I could see a festival, but he even had sour comments about the '59 Sound shows.

 

Yes, he has. Which is why I led with doubt it, but I could see them doing a show or two, as opposed to a full tour. I definitely don't see them ever writing/recording again.

He has talked about it a lot, mainly in his Sittin Round At Home's, that he was miserable doing the reunion/anniversary tour.

 

You're probably right, but...Adam and John hated each other and didn't talk for 7+ years and TBS reunited.

Yeah TBS has had a pretty great run post reunion with lots of successful tours and their last two albums are fantastic.

 

At best it’s been mid. Nothing TBS has done post reunion stacks up to the first 4 imo and I would argue their actual reunion record is their worst

But Happiness Is... and Tidal Wave are very, very good.

Also, they're still a wildly successful touring band.

To each their own. I've given most of their albums a fair chance, and seen them live and they just don't do anything for me. The vocal style is grating and I hate the lyrics. The only song that I actually like is Damien as the vocals somehow are different in that song, maybe it's the mix (but it's more of a scream than a shout in that song) and the music has got a chaotic, botch/older Norma Jean type of energy. Make your own history is actually a pretty decent album as a whole now that I've gone back and given a few more tracks a listen.

I guess it's the rap rock style that I really hate from them, badge and a bullet, goodnight alt right etc. And their lyrics aren't exactly nuanced or thought provoking. There's a decent breakdown every now and then, but can't get myself to enjoy the vocals. It's the same thing with knocked loose, I don't like vocalists with high pitched yell screams I guess. Needs to be more guttural.
